One school district in Washington state has evidently decided that Asians no longer qualify as persons of color.
In their latest equity report, administrators at North Thurston Public Schools—which oversees some 16,000 students—lumped Asians in with whites and measured their academic achievements against "students of color," a category that includes "Black, Latinx, Native American, Pacific Islander, and Multi-Racial Students" who have experienced "persistent opportunity gaps."

If it was up to me, we wouldn’t have any racial/ethnic classifications. As we see here, it’s too tempting for liberal types to manipulate this information and use it to discriminate against those from non-favored groups.
Guess they haven’t been asking for enough handouts to qualify.

The public needs to realize that there are truly differences in IQ among races. Special treatment in school or work just won’t account for those differences.
It almost sounds like they’re saying
“they’re too academically superior to be considered “of color” because it messes up “the gap” which is our preferred narrative.”
The reason for income inequality is inequality
Subcontinent Indians tend to outperform other “people of color” too. And their skin color is decidedly dark. What to do, what to do?

If you excel in school, the Left decides you’re no longer a minority. If you don’t vote Democrat, the Left decides you’re no longer a minority. If you don’t like illegal immigration, the Left decides you’re no longer a minority. “Minority” is now simply a term the Left uses for “our captive voting base”.
I wish someone could explain certain things, such as:
How is it, that some “minority” groups, such as Indians, win spelling bees and have high academic achievement?
How is it, that some “minority” groups, such as Vietnamese, who came to this country on boats, not speaking a word of English, in a few years see their children being valedictorians of their high school class? And then they go on to major universities and professional careers?
How is it, that certain “minority” groups, see very few of their young people getting in trouble with the law?
And, just anecdotal, how do you explain an older black man I saw on TV a while back, who said he grew up in the Jim Crow South, and got a better education in a segregated school than kids get today in big city school systems??
LOL. Another dirty little secret. In the non-Western world, skin whitening products & services is a huge (and growing) market.

Most likely, lumping in Asians with Blacks was pulling up their scores and cutting into the school’s subsidies.
