WASHINGTON — A Justice Department report has found former Labor Secretary Alex Acosta exercised “poor judgment” in handling an investigation into wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein when he was a top federal prosecutor in Florida.

The report, obtained by The Associated Press, is a culmination of an investigation by the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility over Acosta’s handling of a secret plea deal with Epstein, who had been accused of sexually abusing dozens of underage girls.

So why are they coming out with this news now? Interesting timing, is it not?

My guess: Trying to cover their butts before Trump becomes the clear 2020 winner and goes after corruption in their ranks.

Looks to me like Acosta was the Designated Fall Guy for BJ and GWB, his “brother from another mother.” IMHO Acosta, a new U. S. Attorney, was told what to do to let Epstein off and protect BJ and many other higher ups, held his nose, and did just that. I’ve worked in similar situations and know how things work.

I totally agree. I think he left under the gurney (like an old magician's trick).

“Discretion” is the widget that facilitates multi-tier justice.

The legal standard for abuse of discretion is huge. Fact is that what many refer to as two-tier justice is, as a matter of law, the rule of law.

Law is designed to be uneven while pretending to be even. To favor the powerful and to punish threats to the players. While it is doing that, the law will dishonestly claim it is blind and even. The written record will never reveal the secret truth, “discretion.”

And PDJT did himself no favors by not getting rid of the lot.

Anyone promoted or hired by TMN should have been at very least shipped out of the DOJ.

Usually any incoming president asks for the resignation of all appointed prosecutors.
The Donald, not being a lifelong politician did not know enough to fill those position had he done so.
