He for the most part says what he’ll do. He said he’d vote for impeachment and did. He said he’d vote for gorsuch and did.

Manchin won his last Senate election in 2018 with less than 50% of the vote but thanks to state election law didn’t face a runoff. He’s in big trouble in WV. The union members in WV don’t support the Dems anymore, neither does anyone else. There are very few Dem officeholders left in WV, Manchin is pretty much the only high profile Dem left.

Manchin should change parties. The committees are important. A RINO has a lot of good uses. I’ll take the 70% as a republican rather than a democrat. And if he votes against court packing he’s a dead man walking they’ll primary him and rig the election.

The CJ only has one vote on the SCOTUS. 5-4 rulings can go against him.
We have had numerous 5-4 rulings that were conservative that would go the other way with Court packing that will now be 6-3. There have also been quite a few 5-4 rulings that went leftist that will now go 5-4 the other way. CJ Roberts has zero say in stopping that other than his one single vote. That’s why they would want court packing.

The oligarchs want their pocket Democrats to end the filibuster for the purpose of disarming the population (wholesale gun control frenzy in the works, including plans to confiscate). Those who fancy themselves as being masters of the universe are neurotic and phobic about...many things.
Senator Manchin is one of the few halfway sane, if not the only one sane man among Democrats in Congress. Unlike the many more criminal Democrats, he considers consequences of actions.

You are correct. He is saying this to reassure GA voters it’s ok to give the rats the Senate they won’t let things go radical and it is a lie. If we lose both seats in GA his vote doesn’t even matter.
“We will still need at least one GA Senate seat.”
If Manchin flips on court-packing and ending the filibuster, the Senate is 51-49 on these issues even if both GA seats go Democrat (assuming that the North Carolina and Alaska seats remain Republican as expected).
I’m sure as we speak there is a meeting of the senior Democrat party officials and how to deal with the insubordination from one of their members from following the party line.
