Fox News has a problem. Its name is Newsmax

Over the summer I had written about why Fox News was not in a good position as the television ecosystem shifted to streaming. (TL;DR: Fox is the only major cable or network news service not affiliated with a major Flix (multibillion dollar subscription streaming service), e.g., MSNBC has Peacock, CBS News has Paramount+, ABC News has Hulu. And so as cable audiences shrink, they do not seen to have a Plan B.)

But Fox News has another problem: a small right wing service called NewsMax that has done a much better job of distributing its TV programming online via the FASTs–free ad-supported streaming TV services.

As of this writing, NewsMax has a presence on Sling, Pluto, Xumo, Distro, Fubo, Roku, Chromecast, AppleTV and Amazon Fire TV (the latter four via its own free app.)

This is in addition to carriage arrangements with most all the major services, including DirecTV, Dish, Comcast, Charter, Cox, U-verse and Verizon FIOS.

Now granted NewsMax’s viewership is tiny compared to Fox’s and it’s not exactly a start-up–the website was launched in 1998 and the TV service in 2014.

But as viewers shift to streaming and go looking for their fix of free right wing news, they may find it to be a compelling option.

The Concession Factor

The events of the coming week may well determine how successful NewsMax becomes. For while Fox News and the rest of the Murdoch empire has chosen to declare Joe Biden the winner of the presidential election and to cast doubts on President Trump’s assertions that the elections were somehow fraudulent, NewsMax has gone in the other direction.

Their website carries a banner claiming that they are not yet calling the election, and their founder Chris Ruddy has been making the rounds of talk shows to explain ...

Waiting to see if they try to muzzle Tucker and Laura.

Only ones I watch anyway.

Imagine Tucker, Sean, and Laura moving to Newsmax!?!?!?

I’ve been watching and plugging Newsmax for the past six months. I could see they were up and coming by the guests they had on and their regular analysts and show hosts. Michelle Malkin, Dick Morris, Greg Kelly, Stitchfield, diamond and silk even have a Saturday show. Victoria Toensing and Joe DeGenova are regular Monday guest analysts all day. Rob Schmidt and other Fox defectors have been there. Trish Reagan also a regular.

Viewing recomendation

Absolutely no cable, there local access service charge($30) go directly to major broadcasters.

Get fiber from someone that is not you local cable company

Get an over the air antenna no matter what it takes.  OTA

If you must watch something, BOYCOTT advertisers and let
       them know.

The only streaming like cable service to use if you must is philo.

No MSM, no locals, no sports, no fox, no Disney anything
Disney owns ABC, espn, fox (last year), Hulu
       Bankrupt disney.

Use OANN and Newsmax

Demand ala cart service on internet, media won’t allow it, tell them to .....

I find it strange that Sky News which is the UK sister station of Fox News is streaming free on its own App on Roku along with being on Pluto.

MSNBC is on Pluto, CNN.

I wonder why FoxNews has decided against doing that

In the medium to long term, cable is dead.
Online streaming will make cable irrelevant.

Newsmax is FREE. Anyone with a web browser can watch it.

I switched to Newsmax on election night after several Freepers recommended I do, when I expressed my outrage with Faux News.

I have been locked on Newsmax since. Faux News lost a 20+ year viewer. (Granted, for the last 10 I've been pirating it, but hey ...)

I changed my home page to Newsmax the other day. And I am moving away from facistbook to parler. I’ll keep my facebook account for now for the many specific interest groups in them.
