Joe Biden is planning to address the nation and “assert control” as the president-elect if he is declared winner by news organizations, even if President Trump has refused to concede.
“If news organizations declare Joe Biden the mathematical president-elect, he plans to address the nation as its new leader, even if President Trump continues to fight in court,” reports Axios.
The move is a deliberate attempt to make Biden act like the winner even if there is a dispute over the result.
According to the report, Biden will then immediately begin making senior staff appointments in a transition that “would move with unprecedented speed.”
Trump supporters will undoubtedly see this as an attempt to cheat by prematurely declaring victory, something Democrats also claim Donald Trump will attempt.
As we highlighted yesterday, Biden’s campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon asserted that, “Under no scenario will Donald Trump be declared a victor on election night.”
Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro also publicly indicated that his state won’t be releasing final election results until three days after election day.
“I could care less what Donald Trump says, we will count these ballots in a proper way to be certified,” said Shapiro.
As we previously highlighted, pro-Biden analytics firm Hawkfish previously asserted that it’s likely President Trump will appear to have won in a landslide on election night but may lose after mail in ballots are counted, which “will take days if not weeks to tally.”

Isn’t it remarkable that “Trump refusing to concede” is the ONLY potential the media will describe. The concept of Biden losing is a complete impossibility.
You are thinking of Honduras, where a Venezuela/Cuba/Bolivia/Russia/Iran-backed communist got elected and then proceeded to undermine his own country’s constitution in order to make sure he could run for office again instead of being limited to a single term as required. And, not only that, he didn’t want to lose the following elections no matter how the voters would vote. Part of his effort to consolidate power in Honduras was modeled after Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez’s rewriting of the the Venezuelan constitution and use of Cuban agents in place of native Venezuelans whom he could not personally trust in law enforcement and the military for fear their loyalty would be to Venezuela’s true constitution rather than to the leader or communist party. In Honduras the wanna-be dictator hoped to replicate Hugo Chavez’s dictatorship and hold an unlawful referendum to fundamentally alter the constitution, throwing out Honduras’s anticorruption provision which term-limited him to one term.
When he insisted on holding the referendum the Supreme Court overruled him and he defied them, so the Army was sent to arrest his insolent ass.
Transfer of office does not happen until Jan 20 if at all.
He has to wait until Inauguration Day. He has no power nor authority until then, and that’s presuming he wins.
And all along I thought it was the decision of the Electoral College. Silly me!

Seems far-fetched.
In Venezuela, if you are thinking of Maduro who took over from his mentor Hugo Chavez, the country’s constitution had already been undermined by Chavez and kept that way with the aide of his Cuban henchmen, so Maduro was never legitimately elected since the country’s representative system and constitution had already been effectively destroyed by Chavez.
I feel bad for him as a fellow human in decline but that’s where it stops. He’s not a good person and I am ready to have him out of our lives. So ready.
Part of me would love for the Media to declare Biden the winner early, Biden assert control..and then leave him with a Dewey Defeats Truman debacle
If Biden should win I would expect that he would “act like a winner.” But to “assert control” before he’s sworn in? That just goes to show how little respect & understanding he would have for the constitutional limits placed on the office.
BTW, I think Obama’s Greek columns and his “Office of the President-elect” seal are in dry storage somewhere!
My personal opinion...
We’ve tried the soap box for the last 3-4 years.
Now we’re using the ballot box...
If we loose due to fraud there is only one box left.

I agree. I’m tired of dealing with these fools. I’m old and my knees don’t work too well but I just had cataract surgery and I can see those rifle sights like I could 50 years ago!
1. Fire all Government personnel starting at the highest level and continue work down 3 or 4 more levels.
2. Pass all Trump's wants. If we do not control the both chambers of Congress, then sign Executive Orders covering everything Trump wants done. Let the courts fight it out over years, but implement the Executive Orders.
3. Arrest and convict all persons responsible for the 2016 Coup. No one escapes punishment.
Those will be a good start to the second term.

The fact that news organizations “declare a winner” bears no legal weight. The states have to certify the election results, the electors have to meet and vote, and the results have to be sent to be certified by the Senate. Then the winner becomes the president-elect and he will have to wait until noon on January 20 to “exert power.”
