I once had a Brittany that jumped up on the kitchen counter and wolfed down three pounds of steamed shrimp and a large Italian sub.
The dog I have now was trained from a very early age not to touch anything until he's been given permission. Drop something on the floor and he'll just look up at you as if to say, "is it alright?"
