I’m in Meridian, ID. I arrived at my polling station 5 min before opening. I was 42nd in line. By the time I got inside there were 34 people behind me. Once inside, it was very efficient. Total time was 40 mins.

I live in a Republican township in Montgomery County (one of the few left) and at 7:05 this morning the line was out the door and almost all the way around the township building. My daughter just voted a few minutes ago and told me there is still a line. I have never seen it like this.

My precinct in TX was the same way. When I checked in, I was given a long card barcoded with my entrance chit for the voting machine, which was inserted in order to determine the correct ballot for my district/region.
After voting, it returned the ballot with additional bar codes for the selections accompanied with a printout of the selections in text. The final step was inserting it into the machine that tallied and secured the ballot.
I felt much more secure that even if all electronics were down, each ballot could be individually inspected as to the selection by simply reading it.
