I see 4 votes, and that's only a maybe: Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett. Barrett's dissent distinguished between violating the rights of a whole class of people (re. nonviolent felons) and regulating firearms. She even cited Volokh, who once said that an "assault weapons" ban could be constitutional.

We still need more, though, just in case. Democrats have turned radical to suit their constituents, and they will pack the Court. There’s also the chance that another justice will be taken from us within four years.

That's about the size of it. It is totally illogical: the people with murder weapons are NOT minding the law anyway. Why would yet another law stop them?

They really shouldn’t be worrying about the AR-15s with “high-capacity” magazines.

What they really need to worry about are all the “un-documented”
bolt-action mil-surp rifles with iron sights, firing one round at a time.
