First, the polls are tightening. The most recent Judy Ford Watson Center for Public Policy (Christopher Newport University) poll has Biden with only a five-point lead on Trump among likely Virginia voters. It is a significant change from the double-digit lead Biden held in the spring and over the summer.
Second, the Trump campaign’s ground game and voter outreach is outclassing Biden’s. The Virginia Trump Victory effort has already been in contact with over 2.1 million voters via phone banking and door knocking, especially in the Northern Virginia suburbs. This is over half of Virginia’s voters and compares to a minimal effort by the Democrats this cycle. In 2016, Northern Virginia residents were besieged by mailings and union and liberal special interest groups undertaking extensive door-knocking campaigns for Hillary Clinton. Not this year. The Biden ground game and enthusiasm are a shell of Democrats’ historic efforts.
Third, President Trump has made real inroads with minority communities. Black voters make up one-fifth of the state’s electorate, and President Trump is moving the needle with Black (and Latino) male voters. As a Politico headline stated, “Biden’s weakness with Black and Latino men creates an opening for Trump.”...

No, I give up. I worked hard to get rid of Cantor but it has been downhill ever since. When they tore down Gen. Lee and NOBODY did a GD thing I knew then it was time to think about leaving. The VA GOP is BS.

How many times have you been to a GOP unit committee meeting or convention?

The being said, this is the first year in a couple cycles that I received mailers from the GOP in NOVA.
I am the foremost expert on statewide GOP politics at this time, having been heads-down rebuilding the party from the rubble for almost a full year now.
There is little to nothing going on in the state for Republicans that I don’t have tabs on. I have a direct line to almost every major party figure in the state. I’ve been talking to every single GOP candidate on the ballot this year, and every one which will be on the ballot next year, save Delegate candidates who haven’t announced yet.
VA GOP is rising like a phoenix from its own ashes. Too bad you’ll miss all the fun.
I’m way out here in the SF Bay of CA and fighting to reopen schools and even we have heard about what’s going on with Fairfax county and schools.
It’s making national news! The horror of the teachers unions—LA, SF Bay Area, and Fairfax county.
Most of the moms I’m working with here have never been to VA (I have—I went to grad school in DC) but we all know about Fairfax, and sympathize.
And many moms here in SF will now vote GOP for the first time in their lives. They have stated so, and have signed a petition to recall Newsom. They want schools reopened.
Mike is not on the left, and his stint as a Dem was a deliberate trolling of them.
I speak to Mike all the time. He’s a solid conservative.
Kids can’t learn by Zoom. They need something that addresses the whole person.
Adults get “Zoom fatigue” from too many remote meetings in a working day. It’s even worse for the children.
I’ll try to bump this thread after the election and whenever VA’s ec vote is determined. The last time I did this was when the 2nd amendment rally recently happened in Richmond. FR was full of threads predicting a massacre false flag event at this gun rally thing protesting the draconian laws passed. It didn’t happen, it was peaceful. This wasn’t a crazy prediction, but I didn’t think it would happen. Not one freeper came back to these threads to admit their prediction was wrong that I saw.
My prediction: Virginia went from red to blue fast, with no signs of a purple swing state stage in the last 3 presidential elections. Virginia goes blue again. I would love to have the chance love to bump the thread and admit I was wrong.
