Chief Justice Roberts Prevents Conservative Colleagues from Handing GOP a Stay in Significant Pa. Mail-in Ballot Counting Case

Chief Justice John Roberts joined the liberal wing of the Supreme Court in rejecting an application for a stay that was requested by Republican lawmakers in Pennsylvania.

The GOP asked the Supreme Court to put a stop to a state Supreme Court ruling that extended the deadline—by three days—for receiving and counting mail-in ballots for November’s presidential election.

But the 8-justice Supreme Court on Monday denied the application for the stay. The order only said that conservative Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh would have granted the application.

There was no other message, leading us to the necessary conclusion that Chief Justice Roberts, and liberal Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan denied the application.

The Supreme Court’s rules say that five justices must vote in order to grant a stay. Here we had a 4-4 tie.

He thinks he’s screwing Trump but he’s screwing the country.

Ted Cruz recently, and very publicly stated that Justice Roberts despises President Trump. This ruling puts the truth to that assertion. He knows he contradicted his own past rulings but, he doesn’t care. Like other Swamp Creatures, he wants President Trump to go no matter what it takes.

I have very few regrets in my life. Voting for Bush-43 is one of them.

This type of garbage could easily cost the GOP the Senate and House but they delay the vote on ACB knowing this stuff is in the SCOTUS pipeline. This is why I left the GOP years ago and no longer donate to them. Barrett could have been voted out of committee on Friday and full Senate vote today had Graham and McConnell wanted it done.

globalist Dubya’s endless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been the most damaging...

but very close behind is Roberts

once ACB confirmed, a lot of 6-3 decisions will be coming since this coward won’t be the swing vote

We need to seriously pray that God would remove from positions of authority any and all politicians and judges who work evil and against good.

Can this be brought back up in the few days between when Barrett is confirmed and the election?

Maybe as a different case.

I have very few regrets in my life. Voting for Bush-43 is one of them.

Don't forget that our options were Bush or AL Gore or John Kerry.

Bush was the lesser of two evils in each election.

So the vote was not FOR Bush, but against Kerry and Gore.

More making up rules I see. The Supreme Court is every bit the joke that the other institutions are.

Partner, the elections should be over on the day of the Election, which in this case would November 3rd, 2020.

This Chief SC Justice Roberts is one big joke.

We are not too worried in this presidential election since President Trump will win out easily.

Partner, the pollsters and MSM have a lot of explaining to the public why they were so off on this election.

All we have to do is travel to Minneapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, Louisville, Baltimore, Atlanta, Kenosha and Milwaukee, Rochester NY, NYC, Portland, Denver, Seattle, Oakland and you will see the destroying of the cities by BLM and Antifa. It is amazing to us all how the MSM and the Pollsters have not seen this carnage in these cities.

The Deep State controlled both candidates and parties in those days—they only control the Democrats and some Republicans now.

“He’s the political judge who said there are no democrat or republican judges.”

It’s now clear. Amy Barrett will not fill the seat of Ruth Buzzi; Roberts is filling that seat and won’t have to associate with the mean Republicans anymore.

ACB will fill the Kennedy seat but drag it back to the Right where it belongs.

Roberts becomes irrelevant with the exception of deciding which cases to bring before the court (I think that’s the job of the Chief).

There was a “distinguished professor” on the local radio station today intoning that the vast majority of “protests were mostly peaceful”.

So are most bears and moose, but that does not mean you want them roaming around your neighborhood!

I’d much rather have bears and moose roaming around my neighborhood than Antifa, or BLM or “regular” democrats for that matter
