I remember politics of the early 60’s. It’s whomever the party picks, whenever they want. Conventions meant little to nothing back then except a reason to drink too much and have a long, free commercial. Voting was for choosing for a political party platform, not a man or woman.
That's my thought. Some of the emails released from the laptop already portray Hunter as a troubled son, sorry for the shame and disgrace his addiction has brought on his father.
An accidental overdose would be in line with the narrative already being spun, and Joe would ride the wave of sympathy.

That may have worked in the past and for senators and representatives but it wouldn’t fly for the top slot of President in my opinion.

They never expected to win. This was the “Bob Dole” version election for the Dems.
It’s not going to grow legs, he’s not going to withdraw. But in the end the Dems would put somebody else up. Since we don’t vote for candidates, we vote for EC representatives, they’ll just figure out who they should vote for between now and December. It’s actually a very flexible system.

Which begs the question of why kamala was picked for VP when she is not qualified.
You can take that to the bank. Hillary did not command Biden not to concede under any circumstance. Very few in voter land got the full implication of that message, But Joe Biden did loud and clear.
I doubt Biden quits. He makes more appearances than Harris and he gets top-flight, 24-hour protection from the media.

This is NEVER going to happen unless Biden drops 10 points nationally- even in the rigged MSM polls! Then and ONLY then will they even talk about such a possibility! Right now the “prevailing” (I.e. conventional) wisdom is that this election is Biden’s to lose....but anything is possible in the last remaining days! This has certainly been a crazy year 2020!!

I do think that Biden is in danger. Don’t know why, it’s just a feeling.
And even though I don’t like his politics, I don’t want anyone to be in danger.
