(IN NEW JERSEY)If you vote in person on Election Day, your vote probably won’t be counted until Nov. 10 in N.J. Here’s why.

This will be an unprecedented election in New Jersey as all active registered voters are receiving mail-in ballots because of the coronavirus pandemic.

You don’t have to use the mail-in ballot. You can instead vote in person from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 3 — but it won’t work like it usually does.

And, importantly, your in-person vote won’t likely be counted until at least Nov. 10.

“We have to wait until at least Nov. 10, which is the last day we can accept mail that’s postmarked by Election Day,” said Nicole DiRado, the administrator of the Union County Board of Elections.

I don't live in NJ but I plan on voting on election day and many Trump supporters plan on voting in person. I am quite concerned there will be "technical problems on election day" I sure hope President Trump has a contingency plan if this were to happen.

technical problems will keep popping up until they are assured of a Harris/Biden win

Exactly! Every Trump voter I have talked to plans on in person voting because they believe as I do, that a partisan problem exists in the USPS.

Blue Jersey is not going to vote for Trump any time soon. So they are irrelevant. They can count until the cows come home and it will make no difference in the Presidential electoral vote. But battlegrounds Michigan, Pa and Wisconsin, on the other hand......

“New Jersey doesn’t matter”

It shouldn’t matter to Democrats and yet they are going all in to sow the seeds of confusion and angst.

Thjey seem to have put in place the framework to continually “find” votes ala California in 2018 in case they find it necessary to do so in order to win.

Although NJ is heavily Democrat they have a habit of electing Republicans at the top of the ticket and their current Governor has been a pure disaster.

The point is not if Trump will win New Jersey but on how early votes are being counted. And what we will be seeing on election night.

As well as the importance election day needs to go without issues.

I just went to the NJ Vote website and learned that our Secretary of State is named Tahesha Way. None of my friends was named Tahesha.

"This will be an unprecedented election in New Jersey as all active registered voters are receiving mail-in ballots because of the coronavirus pandemic."

The same procedure as in numerous other states, which is why the "poll bad becuz registered voters only!!1!" excuse is invalid now. A registered voter is now a very likely voter.

Yet that excuse is desperately posted on every poll-related thread and surely will continue to be.

It depends on where you live in New Jersey. There are some northern counties, shore counties and southern counties that will go red. If you look at the results from 2016 you will see that those same counties went red. The problems are the usual democratic cities, Camden, Newark and Trenton, and that sadly, is what tips the state blue.

I met my mail carrier at the mail box yesterday.
“Getting many mail-in ballots?”
She said, “It’s starting to pick up.”
“I’m voting in person.”
She asked, “Why?”
“Because your union endorsed Joe Biden.”

I never had a serious, persistent problem with USPS delivery until I became a Trump donor.

Go figure.

I moved from New Jersey to South Carolina three years ago. In June or July, I received a mail in ballot to vote in the NJ primary. They did not send it to my old address with the Post Office forwarding it with the familiar yellow label sticker. It was addressed to me at my current SC address. The NJ Board of Elections knew my current SC address and sent me a ballot there anyway.

I contacted them and had them remove me from the voter rolls so I would not receive one for the general election. OK, it was on me to do that when I moved, but I have changed states only twice in my life and did not occur to me. I wonder how many others were sent out to former (and therefore ineligible) NJ voters?

New Jersey doesn’t matter, sadly, but it is a huge mess and a cautionary tale. Here is what I have experienced so far.

1. We have four adults in my home. I have received six ballots. One for each of the four adults, one for my son who lives in another part of the state and has for 12 years, and one for my son who lives in North Carolina.

2. A guy in a Bible Study I attend received 3 ballots for people who live down the street.

3. A woman who I visit in my work as a hospice chaplain said to yesterday (as she is watching fox news), I didn’t receive a ballot and said to me, “I wonder when my ballot is coming”. What’s interesting is that she lives in a senior community (probably thousands of people there) who are overwhelmingly Trump voters.

“Blue Jersey is not going to vote for Trump any time soon. So they are irrelevant.”

There’s important congressional races too on the ballots, like unseating Gottheimer in the 5th district, along with some other races in the southern part of the state that have a chance for Republicans to flip.

The D’s of course will try every sleazy trick they can to prevent this from happening. As we’ve already seen, mail in ballots have a tendency to be intentionally mishandled.

This doesn’t make any sense. If you vote in person, they check out before giving you access to booth. If they later discover you sent in a ballot as well, they should discard the sent-in one. How to the discard the vote-in-person one and count the mail-in one instead???

“New Jersey doesn’t matter”

That was my first thought. New Jersey can consign itself into deeper irrelevancy as far as the presidential election is concerned.

Does that mean they won’t call NJ for Biden until November 10? I somehow don’t think it’ll mean that because rules only apply to Trump
