Hillary Clinton has called on Congress to slash the Pentagon's budget and shift funding to 'domestic renewal' and foreign diplomacy, arguing that expensive weapons systems from the Cold War and war on terror are no longer needed.
In a lengthy essay published in Foreign Affairs magazine on Friday, the former secretary of state laid out her vision for restructuring U.S. defense spending, while accusing the Trump administration of mismanagement.
'Today's competition is not a traditional global military contest of force and firepower,' Clinton wrote.

[You dont want to get caught flat-footed in a war where nuclear weapons are an option.)]
Precisely. If the Russians or Chinese start lobbing MOAB-sizdd nukes on the battlefield, are we going to up the ante and wipe out hundreds of millions of their people, thereby getting to find out just how good our continental missile defense system is against the other guy’s nuclear triad? Or are we gonna reply with similar MOAB-sized nukes against their battlefield forces? Very important question, and one that arises only if we do have the weapons deployed. Because if we don’t, then it’s a crappy choice between losing on the battlefield or initiating an all-out nuclear attack on the other guy.

You don't consider the newly declassified information that Clinton started the Russia hoax to distract from her email problems relevant?

I would find her more creditable if she was saying to invest in other defense articles but she just wants to disarm which is the stupidest thing I have heard lately.
She has no idea what is going on around the world.

[My fears exactly]
What’s worse is that it literally gives the Dems an excuse to do what in their heart of hearts is their reflexive impulse - throw up the white flag of surrender. I’m the opposite of an FDR fan, but at least you can say of him that surrender wasn’t in his vocabulary - at least to the Axis Powers.
