“Plus vehicles with individual gasoline powered internal combustion engines are far more efficient than trying to power them all from centralized power plants. At least 5% of electricity generated in power plants is lost from transmission and distribution alone.”

Did I debunk this same from you in a thread a few months ago?

"So feel free to drive a fossil fuel powered electric golf cart."

Mine. 750 hp, but I bow my head in respect to the Tesla 2.6 second 0-60 golf cart.

“0-60 is real important in work trucks..../s/”

Maybe, but that same extra torque is really useful for the big jobs.

“I am sticking with a nice big gasoline powered truck or SUV.”

F-150 V8: 410 ftlbs
F-150 Hybrid: 570
Rivian: 894 and can do a 180 on axis!

Because they’re designed for pulling heavy loads not for going fast.

And now you are veering off into rainbow and unicorn fart fantasy land. Where do you think the electricity to replace 140 Billion gallons of gasoline per year will come from?

Generating electricity from anything other than fossil fuels or nuclear power is expensive, unreliable and far worse for the environment over the long run. Come up with a low cost, clean and inexhaustible alternative power source first then we can consider replacing millions of gasoline powered vehicles with electric.

60 is not fast.

That same torque that gets you to 60 in 3 seconds means more pulling power!

“electric vehicles can simply hook into a passing thunderhead and voila’, freee unlimited miles!”

That only happens on November 12th at 10:04PM... And only if there’s a clocktower nearby.

I’ve been watching Tesla videos on YouTube and I’ve seen people using Tesla’s to haul trailers and go on road trips with them and they do not appear to be practical for those uses.

History loves smooth transitions, such as horses to cars. “There’s an assumption that you have this clean break between eras,” says urban historian Martin Melosi. “In the real world, that doesn’t happen.” The idea of a neat transition from horses to the automobile age is a history-as-approved-by-victors myth that elides several decades when horse travel declined but automobiles were uncommon, used primarily to haul freight. The automobile as we now conceive it, a personal transport machine, wouldn’t come along for nearly half a century."

Real American trucks have V-8 engines that gulp petroleum.

Gassers are fine for getting groceries. 6 or 8, real trucks burn diesel.

You seem to have a obsession with going fast the problem is you can only do that so many times with on electric car before the battery goes dead then you have to recharge.
I’ve watched I believe it is the electric family that use a model X to pull a travel trailer.
Model X is supposed to have over 300 mile range but pulling the trailer they’re doing good to get 100 miles then they have to go to a charge station unhook the trailer and spend 30 to 60 minutes charging before they can continue their trip.

Ford and GM are going to get crushed in the electric vehicle market.
Pick up trucks might be tougher for EV to enter the market. Often used for carrying and pulling heavy loads for long distances.
That said, you can bet electric trucks is will have an awesome and matchless 4WD system.
