Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's lead over President Trump grew following last week's presidential debate and Trump's diagnosis with COVID-19, according to a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.

Biden now leads Trump by 8 percentage points, up two points since last week. Trump's share of independent voters fell, and his share of rural voters was cut in half — from 32 points to 16 points.

Just damn, anyone have something to counter this gloom with?

May I recommend Darksheare Coffee?

“WARNING - Not to be taken internally!” - Slings and Arrows

In 12 cup drip percolator pot, fill to 6 cup mark with water.

In filter, put 6 heaping scoops of coffee.

Medium roast works best, just make sure it’s a robust blend.

Found a Maxwellhouse ‘medium roast’ that was rather anemic.

Put pinch of salt in filter, about as much as it would take to cover the surface of a dime with one even layer.

This keeps the coffee from tasting burned too quickly, it doesn’t age well brewed this way.

Brew, recirculate if need be, usually not.

Add sugar and dairy creamer.

Creamora and coffeemate are not recommended unless you like the heart racing that Ranger Pudding gives.

That, and the nondairy creamer will give you both a headache and a buzz with the coffee.

I usually put about 8 spoons of sugar in this stuff, it ends up being like Russian Kava, thick and sweet with that bitter overtone to it.

Oh, and I am NOT responsible for seeming demonic possession of the coffeepot, or the coffeepot ending up acting as if it has been damaged.

Be sure NOT to add creamora or coffeemate to the brew, unless you LIKE ranger pudding style heart racing.

When I brew that stuff for myself, I recirculate the stuff to brew a second time, but that’s me for my own personal enjoyment, and it may wreck the coffeepot.

Don’t forget the salt, it’s important to the finished brew.

You asked for something to counter what the poll was telling you.

Voting beats worrying over meaningless polls, like you also did in another thread, saying that Michigan was already lost because of a poll result.

Those same ads are being run nationally - without any competing message from the Trump campaign. Biden is in complete control of the “Living Room Campaign” and has been for quite some time. He completely owns the subchannels watched by older votes - those most likely to vote. That is a lot of voters. Biden is also running tear-jerking biographical ads, ads portraying him as a strong, competent leader, a man of faith, values, and integrity, etc. Zero competing message - Biden is the only one reaching those voters.

If Biden is cutting that big into Trumps rural base this truly will be a blowout.

“illogical”

The left wing press is going crazy slamming Trump. There’s so much of it that that fact alone tells us that it’s basically lies and that they know Biden is losing.

I don’t know that there’s literally zero Republican ads out there, but I do know that the ratio of Biden to Trump ads is at least 15 to 1.

I doubt that, in addition to his other duties, President Trump creates campaign ads, determines target audiences, and decides where to run those ads.

But it can’t be any more obvious that whoever IS in control of that may as well be (and probably is) working for the Democrats. Republicans are generally off the air, and what few ads there are that I’ve seen are basically fluff that isn’t going to change any votes.

God forbid even ONE hard-hitting Republican ad makes the airwaves.

They might mean his lead in rural voters went from +32 to +16. That could be true, given the Biden ads I am seeing on TV here in Western PA:

$7000 for parents for childcare
$14,000 for (1st time?) home down payments
$1200 more for SS recipients (/year?)

Same ad being played like crazy here in Wisconisin. Unfortunately it does seem to be getting traction among suburban peeps. To make matters worse our local Milwaukee conservative radio station WISN sold out and has been playing non-stop pro Biden ads for the last month! Not good!!

Larry Sabato has Biden up 57 to 41 over Trump this morning.

His figures are wrong. He's up 182,282,129,495,392 %, to Trump's negative 21,549,239,583,348 %.

It’s still heavy on Democrats by 5%, and it also is Registered, not Likely, voters.

There are literally zero Trump ads on these subchannels (such as MeTV) I am watching, and Biden is running these ads nationally - not in local markets. Biden is in complete control of the messaging to these voters.

I noticed Biden is also running ads nationally on major networks as well - was visiting with some folks the other day watching Sunday football and Biden ads were running.

Rasmussen daily tracking has Trump down to 45%. Strong approval down to 34%.
The debate really helped Biden. Hopefully Trump can rebound in the next debate like Obama did.

ALL LIES. Same kind of polls were being shown 4 years ago, showing The Banshee up 6, 8, 10, 12 points over Trump. And who won?

saying that Michigan was already lost because of a poll result.”

Actually that is not why I said Mi is lost. I said in 18 we lost the Mi Governor, AG and SOS so Trump’s 10,000 lead that he had in 16 would not survive a recount in 20. Of course we have to vote on election day at the polling place if we are to have chance. It is just hard to stay optimistic but no we don’t give up.

“I don’t know that there’s literally zero Republican ads out there, but I do know that the ratio of Biden to Trump ads is at least 15 to 1.”

It’s not your imagination.

I’m in a so-called “swing state”, and it’s all Biden all the time, even the online advertising.

Very little promoting the president’s reelection, and nothing (justifiably) trashing the do-nothing House.

Someone in the Trump campaign and the RNC appear to be sleeping at the wheel.

Same here in Michigan. Biden is everywhere except in lawn signs. Trump signs all over and many vehicles with flags.

Still, I have to wonder what the strategy is on ad-buying? Most states vote early so it’s past time to get some messaging out. I get that H raised over a billion in 2016 and Trump didn’t, yet still win and may be thinking if it ain’t broke... but these are different times. A cogent argument is needed to reassure 2016 voters and lay out a plan. Biden is not as despised as Skankles. Harris would be, but they are effectively hiding her.
