And there you have it in a nutshell - exactly backwards in terms of expectations, the product of social education instead of civic minded education. Other people don't 'have to respect it', but they really have no choice for most cases other than maybe locker rooms and toilets, but to accept it. Life is hard enough, these people have chosen for whatever reason (biology, psychology, etc) to take an even harder road. They cannot tell other people what to respect or agree with but he/she/it does retain his/her/its civil rights including the right to a public education no matter what clothes he/she/it chooses to wear or whomever he/she/it wants to couple with.
