Why would Armenia recall its ambassador to Israel?
I was just about to ask the same question.
Nagorno-Karabakh is heating up, and Israel has in the past sold arms to Azerbaijan because Iran is a common enemy. Also, Armenia has been screwed a lot, including over the N-K Armenian enclave, is surrounded by a sea of adversaries, and apparently enjoys shooting itself in the foot.
The Soviets used to have an ABN DIV in the NK. Wonder if it’s still there? And do they still support the Armenians?
Amrmenia, with the Armenian “breakaway” Azerbaijan province, is upset over Israeli arms sales to Azerbaijan.
Armenia is 90 + % Christian and Azerbaijan is 90 + % Muslim.
Israel, morally, should quit supporting arms sales to Azerbaijan, an ally of Erdogan.
If I remember correctly from my days as a Soviet order of battle analyst, after the collapse of the USSR, the Russians withdrew many of their divisions from the various Moslem republics that composed its southern border. And each republic formed divisions based upon the transfer of their nationals back to their home republics to man the equipment left behind by the former Soviet Army.
Hmmmm.... wake up Jerusalem.
Great news. Thanks for posting, ‘Civ.
Armenia is pissed at Israel at the moment because Israel sold weapons to Azerbaijan.
But it doesn’t make sense as to why Israel would sell weapons to Azerbajan.
