After some thought, I got curious about Bidens depiction of his first wifes death. Especially considering he even uses her in a campaign commercial.
As it turns out, the actual story differs greatly from what Joe Biden relates. Surprised? Not if you have a brain.
The story dates back to 1972. Joe Biden had just been elected to the U.S. Senate in Delaware when his first wife, Neilia Hunter Biden decided to take the couples three children to get a Christmas tree. In the tragic accident, the familys vehicle was struck by a truck carrying corncobs.
Biden often claims that the driver of the truck was drunk. However, according to Politico and other sources, the driver of the truck, Curtis C. Dunn of Pennsylvania, was not accused of drunk driving or any wrongdoing in association with the crash.

It would please me greatly if this was the final nail in his political career. This story has been known here for years yet he harped on the truck drivers culpability. It sounds as if it ruined the poor mans life. Yet he never retracted it because he got a political benefit from it. The police even refuted his version of the story. Champion of the little guy? Yeah, right.
So was little Hunter snorting in the back seat when the car was hit by the truck?
It’s not odd at all that a mom would hold her baby while driving. Things were very different back then...we were much freer than we are today.
Seat belts were more of a decoration and some cars didn’t have them at all.
I remember an accident that happened not far from where I lived. The two cars crashed head on at about 60mph. Two teens in the back seat of one car were killed in their seatbelts when the belts cut them in two. Cars were solid, well made. Todays breakaway cars absorb more impact.
Curtis C. Dunn of Pennsylvania, was not accused of drunk driving or any wrongdoing in association with the crash.
She pulled in front of the truck per police report.
If the driver is not at fault did anyone during the autopsy of his wife determine if she was drunk and caused the accident. Many politicians wives have been known to suffer from addiction
The problem I have with that theory is it is explained easily, and there is NO reason to make anything up. No Boogeyman. Seems to me that the fact that he made up a story makes me think she was probably drunk.
To All:
Read this article - somehow Jill Biden met Joe’s first wife shortly before she was killed in a horrific accident.
I graduated from high school in 1972. I do not remember women driving around holding babies at the time. I do, of course remember cars with no seat belts.
I’m sure everything was conveniently buried as it was when Ted Kennedy left Mary Jo to drown in his car.
I also graduated from high school in 1972. I don’t think it was that common for women to drive holding babies; generally they would put the baby on the seat beside them, or give the baby to an older child to hold.
To the end of her days, my mother would throw out her right arm if she had to hit the brakes hard. It was an unbreakable habit from the years when there would be at least one unbelted child beside her in the front seat. Child seats for cars didn’t exist back then, at least I never saw one.
None of us six kids got killed or even hurt in a car crash.
1972... No seat belts and no kids’ car seats.
Whats to question...Biden lied and ruined a mans reputation.
Wasn’t there another of the infamous Kennedy clan whose wife was found hanged in a barn?
After I wrote that question, I seem to recall that it was RFK Jr. (the one who sounds like he uses acid to gargle).
Yikes! I had not heard about that incident. Apparently, Democrats can get away with anything... even murder.
Biden just didn’t claim the truck driver was drunk...he flourished the story on a number of occasions by saying, something to the effect: the truck driver allegedly drank his lunch...and MSM provided cover by repeating the story...

That is outrageous, and yet Democrats get away with these lies over and over again. It’s enough to make you beat your head against a wall.
Did cars have seatbelts in 1972? We only had a 1967 VW Bug back then until 1975. Then we bought a new car with seatbelts. The VW had only lap belts, only in front seat. I know it was dangerous but everyone drove cars while holding babies, especially before seat belts and baby car seats. When we had our first child in 1981 it was highly recommended to take baby home from hospital in a baby car seat, but not a law back then. They could be in front seat facing forward. It was the dark ages. Our son is almost 40 so he survived.
Hmmm. Maybe it was a state by state situation but in Colorado in 1982 when my first son was born, we had to have a car seat before they would let us leave the hospital with him. The law was 4 years old or 40 lbs before you could move to a booster seat.
