I was an EMT. He’s going to Walter Reed to avoid the later red siren ride. And the treatment requires it
And BEFORE they do.
The President’s case was caught very, very early.
The title doesnt sound good - but I dont see it discussed in the article
:: “Not Mounted Their Own Effective Immune Response” ::
Ain’t this just some fancy way of saying, “Hasn’t been exposed to the virus and fought it off”?
Dr. on Fox Business said this is likely to build the immunity system and dne on the onset, and also very good they know exactly when Trump came down with symptoms.
At this point, I’m just so glad Dr. Fauci isn’t involved in the president’s recovery in any way.
I would like to know the antiviral effects of famotidine and melatonin respectively.
Regeneron stock (REGN) is up 25.90 (4.59%) in after hours trading.
New Medication Given Trump Appears to be For Patients Who Have “Not Mounted Their Own Effective Immune Response”
Doesn’t mean much given the state of regulatory affairs and the FDA. To develop a new drug you basically have to find an open niche that is not currently served, or prove that your drug is better than current therapies. Doesn’t mean the antibody cocktail isn’t effective on patients who do have an immune response. It just means that Regeneron didn’t want to try to compete in the field of other therapeutics because that would mean, in essence, proving that their injection was better on the overall population than other regimens many of which have months of a head start in testing and development.
And given that 95% of people over age 70 (and like 99.x% under 70 years) survive the disease anyway, it’s a very high bar to prove.
They were just talking about this over on Medcram just a few days ago. About halfway through:
So why do DJT’s doctors tell the world what medicines they are giving him? It seems it just leads to a lot of (often incorrect) speculation about his condition, as well as second-guessing.
The statement is incorrect and misleading.
We will not know Trumps actual viral load and immune response until he has been tested.
Regeneron is used for people who (1) have mounted effective immune responses and (2) those that are not effective yet. So in the second category its given to help the system while building an effective immune response.
The treatment is for two groups as described here:
As hypothesized, patients in the study consisted of two different populations: those who had already mounted an effective immune response, and those whose immune response was not yet adequate. These populations could be identified serologically by the presence (seropositive) or absence (seronegative) of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies, and/or by high viral loads at baseline.

Nah. They are using it because hes over 70
Its a shot in the dark. Maybe it helps. Maybe it will reduce of prevent viral load
They are being cautious
why aspirin? I thought it was contraindicated due to blood in the lungs.
October 10?
The title is misleading, implying Trump is unable to mount an effective immune response. But theyre using it on him because of its potential to boost immunity. Famotidine is an anti-heartburn med that has been shown to boost immunity. Ive taken it for years when I first I get a cold (best done at onset). OTC it is labeled as Cimetidine. Tagamet is another.
Anyhow, reading the quoted part below is encouraging. Thats why I think Trump will be OK within a week (not 100% better, but will dodge a bullet).
——President Trump’s White House physician, Navy Commander Dr. Sean Conley, reports that Trump is being treated with a Regeneron monoclonal antibody cocktail and has been taking zinc, vitamin D, famotidine, melatonin and a daily aspirin.
Just this Tuesday, George D. Yancopoulos, M.D., Ph.D., President and Chief Scientific Officer of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. stated about the still in test phase new monoclonal antibody cocktail:
“After months of incredibly hard work by our talented team, we are extremely gratified to see that Regeneron’s antibody cocktail REGN-COV2 rapidly reduced viral load and associated symptoms in infected COVID-19 patients. The greatest treatment benefit was in patients who had not mounted their own effective immune response, suggesting that REGN-COV2 could provide a therapeutic substitute for the naturally-occurring immune response. These patients were less likely to clear the virus on their own, and were at greater risk for prolonged symptoms. We are highly encouraged by the robust and consistent nature of these initial data, as well as the emerging well-tolerated safety profile, and we have begun discussing our findings with regulatory authorities while continuing our ongoing trials.”
There were 275 individuals enrolled in the test and no unexpected safety findings have been reported by the Independent Data Monitoring Committee.
