Politico sounds very worried while simultaneously trying to project not very convincingly that there is no real need for concern over the fact that for the first 26 days of September, Joe Biden has taken 11 "lid" days, i.e. done no campaigning. It is almost as if they are trying to convince themselves of this as much as they are their readers in Friday's worry bead article by Christopher Cadelago and Marc Caputo, "When Biden calls a 'lid,' Democrats wet the bed — and Trump starts mocking."
Judging from the tenor of the article, perhaps the authors themselves could be placed in the "wet the bed" category.

I have wondered :
1. Do Joe and Democrats know something we don’t know, such as plans in place to count the votes so that Joe wins? IN such case, there is no need for busy campaign days.
2. Does Joe not really want to win? In that case, he may see simply having run for president as the capstone of his political career. In that case too, there is no need for busy campaign days.
I can only hope that demented Biden shows up for the debate, which one can expect, and that Trump helps reveal his weaknesses because we know Wallace won’t.
The Media/Dem Party is always trying to equate Biden’s talking in a cornfield to 4 people with Trump’s rallies with 10,000 to 35,000 people. Here in Minnesota, there was a headline “Trump and Biden Hold Dueling Events” when Biden and Trump were in MN on the same day. Trump had a rally in Bemidji which had over 5,000 people and Biden spoke in a Union Hall to 5 people in Hermantown and stopped and talked to 9 people on a Duluth street. I’ve noticed that same effort going on everywhere. They’re trying to make it look and sound like Biden is actually out there campaigning when in fact it is phoney non-campaign.
