President Donald Trump intends to choose Amy Coney Barrett to be the new Supreme Court justice, according to multiple senior Republican sources with knowledge of the process.
In conversations with some senior Republican allies on the Hill, the White House is indicating that Barrett is the intended nominee, multiple sources said. All sources cautioned that until it is announced by the President, there is always the possibility that Trump makes a last-minute change but the expectation is Barrett is the choice. He is scheduled to make the announcement on Saturday afternoon.
Barrett has been the leading choice throughout the week, since Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died. She is the only potential nominee known to have met with the President in person, according to two of the sources. One source said Trump was familiar with Barrett already and he met with her since she was a top contender the last time there was a Supreme Court vacancy, when the President chose Justice Brett Kavanaugh instead.

Barrett has too many questions and gets Trump & the GOP nothing. I can't see Collins voting for her unless she knows she's going to lose in Nov. but voting for Lagao might be possible.
ACB believes in her faith over the law for a judge. She sides with gov't & corporations like an establishment type. It makes sense (see below).
For those calling ACB a Catholic, they are not correct. She's not a mainstream Catholic. She's a charismatic having been a active member of a group whose foundations are found in the communitarianism movement of the 1960s. They are organized into "households" (not families under the same roof, something different), submit to the group's hierarchical authority and pool financial resources. They are a "convenient community" outside The Church. Members may belong to different parishes.

When a different person is actually announced, they’ll have all this useless trash prepared and have to start making stuff up on the actual woman selected.

He hasn’t waffled or equivocated about his position. Trump has been strongly pro-life to a point that a woman who is strongly pro-abortion probably wouldn’t vote for him. So I agree with you.
If he loses votes by picking ACB, it would be more likely people who are strongly anti-religion in my view.
