Schools in Logan, Oh., were forced into a lockdown Thursday due to protests, confirmed the Marietta Times. These protests were spurred by an incident that occurred Wednesday, in which a woman watching a middle school football game got tasered by a school resource officer for not wearing a mask. These protests were in support of the officers actions.
The woman, Alecia Kitts, was watching her sons game in the bleachers with her mother, who was also not wearing a mask, says The Marietta Times. The two were approached by the schools assistant principal, Adam Twiss, to comply with the mandatory face coverings policy despite being outside and socially distanced. The officer was also called upon to intervene.
In the video recorded by fellow game-watchers, Kitts can be seen resisting the school resource officers attempt to handcuff her. In the midst of the struggle, the resource officer tasers her in the back, causing her to fall to the ground and finally be subdued.
The school resource officer, identified as Officer Chris Smith, had warned Kitts that should she not put on her face mask, she would be cited for trespassing and escorted from the game. After the tasing incident came to pass, Kitts was formally charged with criminal trespassing as well as other charges that are currently pending.
It is important to note, the female was not arrested for failing to wear a mask, she was asked to leave the premises for continually violating school policy, noted Logan Police Department on Facebook. Once she refused to leave the premises, she was advised she was under arrest for criminal trespassing, she resisted the arrest, which led to use of force.
The protesters outside the Logan Police Department agree. Showing their support of Officer Smiths actions, they touting signs proclaiming, Back the blue, Stand with Smitty, and Smitty, you make the world a better place. The school lockdown stems from suspected threats.
But what about her white privilege?
Way to go, you stupid cop.

There are details lacking from her earlier alleged transgressions
Apparently earlier alleged transgressions, details lacking so I cannot issue a ruling here :)
School policy might apply to school visitors, do you have a copy we can consult?
I see. So attending your son's football game and sitting in somewhat empty stands is now criminal trespass? Why wasn't everybody else in the stands arrested? This is all about this woman's refusal to wear a face diaper. Something every one of these lockdown governors committs but quickly excuses himself without apology. That mask is NOT about health its about doing what you are told without thinking for yourself. These videos are becoming the best case I've seen for "defund the police." We don't need police just following orders. Didn't excuse anyone at Nuremberg. Don't know why it should now.
“she resisted the arrest, which led to use of force.
End of story.
End of story.
BULLSH*T!
I may not agree with this, but I now like to see all the facts before rendering an opinion.
Otherwise, you have to accept that defiance either way. So if hard left protestors obstructing traffic for hours claim it is supported by their religious beliefs, and that it would be a violation of their religious liberties to move them, the cops would have to let them stay.
Trespassing is the generic charge that is always used.
She refused to wear a mask.
Good point. I hope that I never have a run in with a stupid cop.
To answer your question. It is the winners, not the losers that make the rules [laws] The actual reason she was arrested was that she did not bow down and kiss their asses. She defied their authority. She did not wear her signal of submission [mask]. She is very fortunate she did not get the hell beat out of her. Or worse.
A lot of us believed that.
Not the way it works.
I personally don't like it either, but if someone legally entitled to control access to a particular piece of property sets rules, visitors have to comply.
Except they don't. That is the point.
Otherwise, you have to accept that defiance either way.
It depends.
So if hard left protestors obstructing traffic for hours claim it is supported by their religious beliefs, and that it would be a violation of their religious liberties to move them, the cops would have to let them stay.
And you really can not see the difference between someone sitting peacefully not bothering anyone and violently stopping traffic and threatening people.
Would you care to take a minute and think about what you just said?
It has only been the law of the land for some 30 years. Even public schools should have been able to have read it by this point.
I thought she was asthmatic; exempt from wearing a mask. Yes? No?
School policy was to wear a mask.
Note: They were scocially distancing. and then some....outdoors..... sitting a far distance from the field as well.
Watching the video of the cop trying to remove her was difficult to watch........using a taser was way out of line.....I’d be suing the cop and the school and the other two guys who stood by..
And then I’d sue Gov. Dewine Big time for supporting this after it happened!
