Michigan plans to become carbon neutral by 2050, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced Wednesday, making the state the ninth in the nation to set such a goal.

“The science is clear – climate change is directly impacting our public health, environment, our economy, and our families,” Whitmer said in a statement Wednesday.

“These bold actions will provide critical protections for our environment, economy, and public health, now and for years to come. It will also position Michigan to attract a new generation of clean energy and energy efficiency jobs.”

You’re slightly off...

30 years from now she'll be 81 and even if she is still alive she'll be so far removed from power that I doubt the generation in power will even want to remember her and her politically INEPT career.

She can’t even expand the electric infrastructure without a 100% reliance on fossil fuels. DoE needs to make a rule requiring “green” projects to utilize ONLY non-fossil components throughout. Mining, transport, milling, operations, etc, these must be 100% non-fossil for any federal reimbursement as a “green” project.

Yeah, you’re right. It’s a twofer with her. You gotta be a seriously messed up masochist to want to have anything to do with her.

This, and Newsom’s ban, are EU climate goals.

I think it’s great that CA, MI, and probably others soon are doing this. It’s a great piece of information for people who are trying to decide where to live — or where not to live. This crap is going to cause a natural secession in the country. (If only the whack-o states were contiguous!)

I am a fan of what I see as the coming EV Revolution, however. It is not for these states to decide and get extra Constitutional and scream they are 10th Amendment advocates when what they do destroys commerce and make it difficult for manufacturers to pedal to so many different cadences.

It's nullification in it's own right, and they are behaving like it's 1861 all over again...

“These bold actions will provide critical protections for our environment, economy, and public health, now and for years to come”

The bold action that won’t take place until 30 years from now, and for which every politician now in office will in all likelihood be dead or retired.

So another ‘bold’ action that dumps all the responsibility for implementing onto children that are probably not even born yet.

But, she did get to virtue signal, so that is really all that counts.

Let’s see - carbon free, that means no natural gas for heating and cooking, no wood stoves or fireplaces to keep warm, and wind turbines will freeze and solar panels useless due to ice and snow. I guess the My Pillow man will have to start selling heavy blankets to cover those Egyptian cotton sheets.

You never can tell - she might run for U.S. Senate and be there well into her 90s.

Dream on... even if you're related to her I doubt that will ever happen... especially after her EXTREMELY CRAPPY reign as Governor..
