Grand jury decides to indict police officer involved in Breonna Taylor’s death

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WSAZ) - More than six months after Breonna Taylor was shot by Louisville police officers during a no-knock warrant, a grand jury has decided to charge one of the officers in the case.

Detective Brett Hankison was indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment. Hankison will be booked on a $15,000 cash only bond.

The other two officers involved were not charged.

you recall wrong. They were at the correct house, no knock warrants *which I disagree with* were used regularly. Her ex boyfriend had mailed drugs to THAT address. Her current boyfriend answered the chaos by shooting at the door, hit an officer and fire was returned. Unfortunately for her she was hit by RETURN fire. BTW, no knock warrants have been outlawed.

Even that won’t satisfy them. Why? Because the riots have nothing to do with the issue at hand. The riots are just a tool and mechanism to try and effect radical change.

THIS RIGHT HERE. Nothing will satisfy them.

“The primary targets of the LMPD investigation were Jamarcus Glover and Adrian Walker, who were suspected of selling controlled substances from a drug house more than 10 miles away.[10][11] According to a Taylor family attorney, Glover had dated Taylor two years before and continued to have a “passive friendship”.[11] The search warrant included Taylor’s residence because it was suspected that Glover received packages containing drugs at Taylor’s apartment and because a car registered to Taylor had been seen parked on several occasions in front of Glover’s house.....

Kenneth Walker, who was licensed to carry a firearm, fired first, injuring a law enforcement officer, whereupon police returned fire into the apartment with more than 20 rounds. A wrongful death lawsuit filed against the police by the Taylor family’s attorney alleges that the officers, who entered Taylor’s home “without knocking and without announcing themselves as police officers”, opened fire “with a total disregard for the value of human life”, but the police account claims the officers did knock and announce themselves before forcing entry....

...Walker, a licensed firearm carrier, shot first, striking a police officer in the leg. In response, the officers opened fire with more than 20 rounds, hitting objects in the living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway, bathroom, and both bedrooms. Taylor was struck by five bullets[23][24] and pronounced dead at the scene.[25] No drugs were found in the apartment.[3] According to anonymous sources who spoke to WAVE3 News, one of the three officers allegedly fired blindly from the exterior of the residence, through a window with closed blinds and curtains; the sources said they do not believe Taylor was struck by any of the bullets fired by the officer who was outside.”

"no knock warrants are the real crime."

So charge the judge who issued the warrant.

b.t.w., there apparently is some confusion as to whether this was a "no knock" warrant or not.

The BF who shot at the police first, had time to go get his gun and start shooting because he heard the police knocking. He admitted he heard them knocking. [1]

“His firearm discharged through walls into a neighbor’s apartment, where three people were present, including a pregnant woman.”

Well, there you go. No harm done. </s>

I think the original Marxist plan was to disarm the citizens first and then the police. But when that became less and less likely, they moved on to plan B.

Plan B: make it impossible for the police to do their jobs by indicting them for every imaginable action (use minorities to riot when possible). Further destroy police morale by having rioting mobs and their appeasing politicians scream "defund the police."

Then go after citizens who use their weapons to protect themselves from the mob.

And, voila, police and citizens are basically disarmed by the courts.

This is very, very, very troubling and I’m somewhat concerned also.

Yup, it's why the BF had time to go get his gun and start shooting first. He heard knocking first.

The audio reveals Walker's account of that night during an interview with the Louisville Metro Police Department hours after his girlfriend's death. He said he and Taylor shouted "who is it?" after hearing multiple knocks at their door.

Why don’t home invaders announce themselves as police? Seems to me this would reduce bloodshed, at least for the home invaders.

Better yet, why not Santa Claus? Everybody likes Santa Claus.

Doubt it. NOT indicted for shooting her. For reckless endangerment of shooting into other apartments.

I’m not saying this is the case. But, I do believe adrenaline and fear would make one unload into the direction of fire. All the facts are not in, with some having distortions (i.e. “it was a no-knock warrant”; “no it was not” plus, was it the cops bullet or the perp inside?)

Either or, the public cannot have fear dictate actions of an unrestrained cop. Dismissal was appropriate and I’ll wait and see what justice says. I am sure he will have a good lawyer.

Hold on. What actually happened? Another thread says it was not a no knock warrant and they were told it was the police. I can’t figure this case out at all.

He admitted he heard them knocking.

I understand his exact words to the police were, "I hear you knocking, but you can't come in."
