Grand jury decides to indict police officer involved in Breonna Taylor’s death
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WSAZ) - More than six months after Breonna Taylor was shot by Louisville police officers during a no-knock warrant, a grand jury has decided to charge one of the officers in the case.
Detective Brett Hankison was indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment. Hankison will be booked on a $15,000 cash only bond.
The other two officers involved were not charged.

She knew what she was doing. Instead of watching this on tv, read the tatumreport. The transcripts of the jailhouse phone calls are particularly interesting.
Much more to it, the cops did a no knock raid on the wrong house if I recall. The cops were wrong, period. In this day of age of surveillance, there are many options in tracking, a citizens home being wrongfully raided is inexcusable, ALL no knock raids should be abolished, period.
MAGA supporters should head fake BLM. We should go out in mass right now and start protesting. Who cares what we protest.

This is the cop who backed away from the house and was firing through the bedroom window, with curtains closed and no idea what was inside. He was fired for this back in June, and “wanton endangerment” seems like an appropriate charge. Obviously, having just seen your partner shot is a mitigating factor, but at a minimum, this guy should never be a cop again.
Obviously, the mob wants all three officers executed for murder. They will not be satisfied with this. If you are in the Louisville area, beware of mobs looking for blood. Don’t let it be yours.

Nope - some lady speaking saying it proves “black lives don’t matter.” Of course there is zero evidence this would have been handled any differently had the races been reversed, but we can’t let the truth in the way of a good narrative.
Ic agree, no-knock entry should only be allowed in a hostage type situation.
Her death is sad, so are the many deaths caused by the way these warrants are carried out. Instead of charging the police for carrying out orders, they should pass Rand Paul’s bill banning them.
I think each charge carries a 1-5 year prison term. Honestly though these officers had a superior who ordered this warrant to be executed at that time, they were following orders and unfortunately for the woman she chose to hang with unsavory characters. That cost her life. If I were an officer and shots were being fired at me or my partners it would seem justified whether in the apartment or not to extinguish the threat. She was unfortunately in the way.

Reportedly, the indicted officer fired through a window, although he didn't hit anyone.
Actually, it was not the wrong apartment and it was not a No-knock raid. You’re missing some important facts.
I keep seeing this incident portrayed as a no knock warrant yet I haven’t seen any evidence that such was the case. From what I have read from other sources the cops knocked and announced their presence and were immediately fired upon by Taylor’s boyfriend.

Nope. Correct house. I oppose no knock warrants, but there is no doubt the cops were LEGALLY doing their job. And were shot at, and then responded.
No, they had a warrant for her apartment due to her past association with a drug dealer (which she no longer maintained).
What is problematic is they knew their target was NOT AT THE APARTMENT, but still executed a No Knock, instead of asking her to come in for questioning. The target was taken into custody at approximately the same time about 10 miles away.
1. She was involved in criminal activity which brought the cops to her front door.
2. She was cheating on her man, who was in jail at the time.
3. The dude she was laid up with thought the cops was her man and opened fire on them.
1a. The cops wouldn’t have been there had she not been involved with criminal activity.
2a. She most likely wouldn’t have been involved with either of these two men had she not been involved in criminal activity.
Should be included in the weather forecast.
I tend to agree, though there might be a place for a no-knock in some terrorism cases.
Exactly. Many people, including white people and children, are killed during these no knock warrants. And sometimes they’d gone to the wrong address or followed a lead by someone that doesn’t like the subject. Rand Paul has a bill to make these warrants illegal.
