The voters of this country should be heard, Joe Biden said this weekend as he exhorted Senate Republicans to block a vote on President Trumps Supreme Court nominee. That might be clever messagingwho doesnt want voters to be heard? But theres one problem: Unlike Mr. Trump and Senate Republicans, Mr. Biden has given so few details about his Supreme Court vision that voters are left guessing at what a vote for him means for the judiciary.
Start with appointments. Mr. Biden has resisted naming individuals hed consider for the Supreme Court, saying it would subject them to undue criticism. Fair enoughMr. Trumps practice of making his short-list public is not required of other candidates. But the absence of specifics raises a fair suspicion that he doesnt want voters to know that his nominees would be well left of center.
Mr. Bidens chief stated requirement for a Supreme Court appointee is based on race and gender, not judicial philosophy or qualifications. His website says he would appoint the first African-American woman to the Supreme Court. Thats his prerogative, but it doesnt help voters concerned about the impact of the Court on their lives; race and gender are not a proxy for views of the law.
Given those requirements, legal observers have speculated that two women top his list: 44-year-old Justice Leondra Kruger of the California Supreme Court and 50-year-old federal district court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, whom President Obama reportedly vetted for Justice Scalias vacancy. Both have significant records, but by avoiding names Mr. Biden can please his base with race and gender symbolism and avoid a debate on the law.

and then when the GOP takes over, they take it up to 15
I guess we have to elect him to find out what hed do.
The media has no interest in asking him. They don’t ask him anything. This isn’t a campaign it’s the media trying to make sure Biden wins
Yep, that’s pretty much what he said earlier.

Biden won’t have any say in it.
The way the keep talking with such cocky self confidence that they are guaranteed victory despite a Grand Canyon sized enthusiasm gap and more excitement by far than I have witnessed for all candidates since the 60s combined against a candidate who gets more Trump supporters at his rallies than Biden ones is really freaking me out. Even the use of the lame duck language. There has not even been an election yet. Yet they speak with such authority about it being lame duck
There will be three vacancies over the next 4 years anyway. So they dont need to pack.
If the Dems get the Senate, the Presidency, and hold the House the Republicans won’t take over again. Ever. With just the first two they will probably be in the same position. They can add 2-6 Senators right away and pack the Court with enough activist young Justices that everything they do will be made “Constitutional” by the Court and they will rule in spite of the House. This one is a fight to the finish unless the Democrats lose. If they lose then the fight continues until they do win. We are at that situation where the Democrats only have to win once. We will stay there until they win or until the university system collapses and the FedGov ends ALL financing and rule making for public schools. Then we have to hold on until another generation grows up with an actual education. We have given away the store long ago by letting the Federals nose into Education.
Biden’s handlers haven’t given him an answer. I’d think ol’ joe knows its a dumb thing to say but isn’t sure how he’s suppose to answer it.
Doesn’t matter if he’s against it anyway, depends on if his controllers want it or not
Nah, just scroll it up a little...
and then when the GOP takes over, they take it up to 15
If the Dems win everything they’ll Ban the GOP ,LOL
Of course he will. Which is why he won’t say. Dementia Joe will do exactly as he’s told to do. Until he’s replaced which won’t take very long at all were he to win the election.
Exactly. It has always been President Trump and the people against the Media.
Former Vice President Biden is just a surrogate for the Media.
Who you gonna beleive? The Media or your lyin' eyes?
Well they couldn’t ask him today
Before 10am his campaign staff declared another “lid” day
I think the way to clearly and quickly define Biden and the judiciary is the Heller trial.
Biden had been in the Senate during the nomination of all nine justices, if I had read correctly. It was a clear cut case about gin rights.
If I read correctly, if Biden had gotten his way, there would have only been one feeble dissent to witness the end of federal protection of gun rights. It would have been a whopping EIGHT to one against the Constitution.
That is because he has no idea what they are talking about.
