Of course, this caused angry outbursts from the already violent and destructive far left mob.

Within hours angry leftists posted Mitch McConnell’s address online and on social media

This is the modern day left. They immediately reacted to the news with threats of violence. And after months of leftist rioting we all know those are not empty threats.

Deploy razor wire around property boundaries leaving only a single point for entrance egress from the property like the driveway. Put a movable barrier On the driveway. Hire a couple of armed security guards for a couple of days. In fact as senate leadership he probably has a security detail. Then let them shout wave their signs and do their moronic chanting. Put on a Beethoven symphony and a few sonatas turn up the volume and let the security folks shoot any bomb or Molotov cocktail throwers

They have a right to be heard. They have no rights to violent assault or to destroy property

Actually they don’t have a right to be heard. They have a right to voice their stupid opinions, but no one has to listen

Non violent, law abiding protests are a part of our Constitutional Republic. Go ahead and express yourselves all you want guys.

In this superheated arena of ideas before Nov.3, I know this sounds rude to you but honestly what is an example of a rather recent legal, nonviolent, noncoercive expression of free ideas in a peaceful demonstration?

Here is one (count 'em) just one: Lansing , Michigan people peacefully demonstrate to be allowed to re-open businesses and to travel freely under the Gov Gretchen Whitmer edicts for lockdown. Media called them "invading" and terms like "threatening" but they did nothing wrong. Even cleaned up trash after leaving.

They were smeared and Whitmer said they don't represent the better people of the state. Hah.

I missed the leftist ones. Does not count when the plan was first always one hour of "peaceful" to show on TV news, with violence ready to go later as planned. Gas to fill bottles, fireworks, bricks in piles, vans with rocks and more fireworks set up and used after dark. News stories ready beforehand "Started peacefully...was hijacked by angrier types who began less than peaceful actions later...."

Again, no offense intended to you. I remember nonviolent demonstrations long ago.

RBG’s death also takes all the attention away from Biden and his deficiencies. Convenient for Biden.

Of course if Trump were to be successful in getting a SC justice confirmed then it would be a win indeed. Unfortunately that requires Republican Party unity which is in short supply.

It’s not out of the realm of possibilities we get a couple vulnerable Dems. The riots have made some very nervous, now there’s certain to be more of it.

I don’t know if anyone else feels this, and it’s not just the spectical of this SCOTUS crisis for the Dems, but I feel as though a weight has been lifted off of America. Something has changed. Something good is about to happen through all the chaos. Something “pure, lovely and of good repute”, not the other thing (killing, stealing and destroying) although I’m sure that will continue, but it feels as if you are being chased by someone who wants to kill you in their car down the highway and suddenly they blew a tire and went flying off the embankment and they are not chasing you any more. A sense of temporary relief.

McConnell seems to be a stubborn guy. Protesting in front of his family’s house will only serve to set his resolve.

Squishy center, Libertarian, Moderate Democrat shifting toward Donald—if for no other reason than to distance from the psychopath mob.

If we make room for them and stand firm, we will win some of them over.

Definitely. Someone with amazing power to murder children is gone. A weight HAS been lifted off of America, for sure.

“Again, no offense intended to you. I remember nonviolent demonstrations long ago.”

No offense taken, you make a good point. Sadly the Left has almost destroyed the concept of Peaceful Protest in recent months, similar to how they have destroyed the concept of legitimate workplace sexual harassment complaints through their outrageous conduct with Clarence Thomas and Kavanaugh.

I’ve been especially troubled to constantly hear actions where protesters block off highways and surround vehicles described at “Peaceful Protests”. If you interfere with public travel you are committing a felony - blocking a car is kidnapping.

In a sane society anyone who set out to block vehicles and highways or loot stores would be frightened for their lives. I’m afraid we will have once again make that be the case to ever again have a civil society.

Ok. If I follow, like two sailing ships at sea, one pursuing the other, when suddenly the pursuer has lost all wind and the sails go limp. Like that?

Trump has been given an incredible opportunity. The chess game has now gotten real. Can you imagine the scrambling on the Dem side trying to buy Trump delaying this till after the election?
