President Trump has the right nominee at the right moment in American history.
When Ruth Bader Ginsburg died Friday evening, she did so with a message for posterity which, for all the history that Ginsburg might have made as a woman on the Supreme Court, was pristine in its self-description of her time on the Court.
My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed, she said.
The arrogance of that was par for Ginsburgs course.
The fact that Republican women havent been represented on the Supreme Court since Sandra Day OConnor rankles a bit; youve got to offer big parts of your base role models when you can.
Yes, yes, Ruth Bader Ginsburg lived an interesting life, and yes, yes, she was an accomplished woman. Those things are beside the point. It is neither ghoulish nor inappropriate to look to the future of the United States Supreme Court upon her death rather than pay tribute to the life she lived. After all, that life was for all practical purposes long since over months ago, when Ginsburg chose to spend her time on deaths door occupying space on the Supreme Court in an effort to outlast President Trump. And Ginsburg practically begged us to engage in nominatorial exegesis upon her death with the unfortunate quote referenced above.
That her gambit failed, despite practically every responsible pundit and political voice in the country either whispering or shouting the lack of wisdom involved in Ginsburg persisting on the court long after she should have recognized her failing health and retired, is not the fault or responsibility of President Trump.
She was 87 years old, for crying out loud. Were Trump to be re-elected, did she honestly expect to linger on the Supreme Court until

that fight would be epic
She should be buried Monday. Odd people assume she is an atheist, but her family is following Jewish law and burying her quickly. If not for the Jewish New Year she would have been buried today. Trump will announce his nominee Tuesday. If it is Amy Barrett, she was just vetted by the same committee a couple years ago. She can meet privately with committee members and the hearings start 1 October. Vote by 15 October.
“Trump will announce his pick next week following her funeral.”
Screw that. He should announce his pick today.
Trump knew this was coming and should’ve been prepared to announce his nominee within seconds of RBG’s confirmed time-of-death. He should’ve been repeating the nominee’s name in his head every day like a mantra. We’re running out of time and who knows what roadblocks the left will throw up to delay the process until after the election...which they are most assuredly trying to steal.
Do not be surprised if RBG’s memorial(s) and burial take literally weeks. Her casket will be loaded on an official “viewing” train and carted around the USA in a mind-numbing procession of praise, worship, self-flagellation...and numerous delays. Every Democrat politician will pay homage; every single Left-wing actor/actress will make a speech; every LSM news person will shed tears and openly declare their love for this grotesque (dead) human being. It’ll make the Paul Wellstone Memorial look like a 30-second commercial for Preparation H. Finally, when every inhuman desire to honor this wretched c#nt has been satiated by the Left..sometime after the first week in November...she’ll be buried. Maggots will have taken up residence in RBG before she’s interred. Heck, they probably won’t even bury her...just bronze her and stand her up in front of the White House.
There is NO time to waste.
“Whats her great claim to the seat? That shes female?”
I don’t get it, either. There are other women on PDJT’s list. I believe they want her because she’s Catholic; that’s what is mentioned most often.
I’d prefer that SCOTUS had a fair percentage of faiths / denominations represented. Now it’s basically just Catholic and Jewish. (Gorsuch was raised Catholic; now Episcopal.)
Most Founding Fathers were Protestants, i.e., Anglican, Presbyterian, Congregational, Quaker, Lutheran, and Dutch Reformed. Only three were Catholic.
Also, it was the crawling-on-broken-glass onslaught of Protestant and evangelical voters who put PDJT in the White House. A majority wouldn’t have voted AT ALL in 2016 until they realized PDJT would appoint strict Constitutionalists to SCOTUS. They’re as committed to the Constitution as anyone else.
And as far as that "wish" goes, everyday I wish a sea monster would jump out of the sea and devour the Clinton's, Obama's, Nancy Plousey and AOC all in one gulp.. But it never seems happens.. So much for wishes.. Like my Dad use to tell me, wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one gets full the fastest... :(
Thanks!
Joe announced in June he will pick a black female for SC.
Fox just listed 9 SC picks on Trumps list and Barrett was on the screen. Odd. I’m sure she is on list but Fox didn’t have her photo up.
Dems having emergency meeting today to discuss SC open slot. I’m sure they will be cooking up all sorts of plans to stop Trump for sitting a Judge.
That’s what I said, the winner can leap into the Senate first to fill the five weeks left in McCain’s term.
Because he knows what failing to support this will do to Republicans and the republican party. Sure they all want to take out Trump, but it's a bit like trying to throw a 1 megaton nuclear handgrenade. You will take out the target, yourself and a whole lot more.
Trump putting Cruz on the list was a message for Cruz to start thinking about what he wants to do. We need that Senate seat right now.
Disagree. We need a strong conservative on the bench who will not waver.
The lawless decrees regarding the cheat by mail ballots by the Pennsylvania and Michigan Supreme Courts MUST be struck down asap.
We CANNOT risk another Roberts. Gorsuch and Kavenaugh have already shown they are not made of the same stuff as Scalia was and Thomas/Alito are. Plus, we are going to lose Thomas/Alito soon due to retirement. Cruz would be a safe, dependable conservative vote.
Jay Seculo says Monday. Day delay because of the holiday.
Here's a little secret: It's senate tradition that if a sitting senator is nominated for SCOTUS, hearings are waived & it goes straight to a floor vote. PDJT named 3 senators on his new 20. He could potentially nominated Mike Lee on Mon & be confirmed Tue before anyone's blinked— Brian Cartwright (@blcartwright) September 19, 2020
You can make all sorts of plans. God watches and laughs.
The governor of Texas could appoint his state AG to fill out Ted’s term.
Cruz can use his position to get the nominee through. This isn't roulette.
You need Ted’s voice in the Senate right now.
