Map at link - I can copy the map, but not the names of the fires and sizes for some reason.

Money quote. We're all gonna die.

"It is the bellwether of the future. We are feeling the acute impacts of climate change," Gov. Brown tweeted on Thursday. "We are seeing its acute impacts in Oregon, on the West Coast and frankly in the entire world."

We could harvest timber and clear brush before it burns, but Bambi ....

Nah. Never mind.

Here in the Seattle area, it’s very murky, and the sky has an almost yellowish hue. I’m told that in Tacoma, the sky was orange this morning.

I’m seeing reports of incendiaries being staged. And we’re being bombarded with requests not to spread rumors, with statements like “No anti-fascists have been arrested in connection with the fires.” Maybe that’s the problem. Reports of shots fired, arsonist with spray backpack shot in the leg....

Smoke is settling in to the Reno/Truckee meadows area again today. Visibility probably 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile. Not good for a visit by PDJT today. Haven’t heard if it’s still on or not. Feel bad for folks with respiratory issues. The air quality index is solid red and appears to be in that position for several more days. Again.

Useless map. When does Portland burn?

So the fires are every where on the West coast, but guess what. They stop at the US/Canadian boarder. Think about that in relation to global warming.

The blessing for Eastern Washington and North Idaho is that the forecast is generally calm winds with a chance of rain (higher humidity). This will help slow and suppress the fires.

The curse is that the lack of winds and/or powerful fronts moving through has caused the massive amounts of smoke and particulate to just settle down on top of them.

5 seasons in the West now - Spring, Summer, Smoke, Fall, and Winter.

I must beg to differ. The problem is climate change, but nothing to do with the weather or temperature increase. The "climate" is the culture of the tree-huggers that stigmatizes proper forest management.

No clearing of ground fuel. No controlled burns. No trimming of "ladder fuel", dead limbs of tree that let fire climb into the tree canopy and creates a crown fire.

Over and over again, mismanagement killing people and destroying property.

Not really a good argument. The past few years have seen massive wildfires in Canada that they just allowed to burn and the smoke from those did not respect the border.

Just saying.

There is no “perfect solution” for this problem, but the best solution is to do a better job of managing forests and to allow the wildland fire crews to do prescribed burns.

There is a current movement talking about “indigenous peoples management of public lands” and I think the purpose is to allow better management practices because the use of the term “indigenous peoples” is difficult for the radical left to argue with.

I’m hearing reports of arsonists in Oregon- credible. The sky on Los Angeles is brown. Looks like Armageddon.

We know they’re trying to kill everyone
