I didn’t know you are one of the “Old Timers” like me. :) I found out about FreeRepublic when Rush was going on and on about it in the fall of 1997. Checked it out and “Lurked” for a couple months till I signed up a couple months later.

This has always been a great place. I used to love all the long, deep discussions, the expertise's of various freezers. They could debunk just about anything and I really miss some of the Freepers who now grace the Wall of Fame.

Wow, I’d forgotten about the Walter Reed protests, that was fantastic.

My favorite FR moment was at Mass Ave & 34th St. in front of the National Observatory screaming at Gore, “Get out of Cheney’s House!”

Another classic for me was a small Freeper gathering in Arlington. I gave Kristinn a ride home afterwards, and I recall thinking that he was thinking that I was an FBI plant. :)

I lurked through the BJ Clinton Impeachment. Then after acquittal officially joined and became an active member of the DC Chapter for the weekly Saturday FReeps at the White House. I was hoping to get a rest after the 2000 election but was thrust into the “Gore Wars Get Out of Cheney’s House” FReeps at the National Observatory. Then we held the glorious Free Republic Inaugural Ball and Count the White House Silverware Party for W Bush‘s first term. Trivia question: Who was the very special musical guest for the ball?
