Tell me why! She was always a favorite of mine and a perfect night is her movies one after another with Rock Hudson or James Garner AND her WARDROBE in all those movies was the absolute best that Hollywood ever came up with. But I guess being a man, the wardrobe wouldn’t have appealed to you but I dare any woman to say she wasn’t envious of her figure AND wardrobe...

What canal??? There is a canal on White House grounds?

I would think that she couldn’t go anywhere in those 8 years without a Secret Service agent at her elbow. If I encountered a well known person with obvious Secret Service in attendance-—I would not say or do ANYTHING that would get me i trouble. NOT EVEN A HELLO.

You’re obviously more familiar with the area than I am and I didn’t have a clue how far it would be - only know from a lot of reading that there IS a canal somewhere near there.

Tell me where it is, please. I’m curious now. I just read a book (fiction) that featured Venice, CA and I had a ball looking up all those canals; who built the area like that, how the water is drained out and tide brings it back etc. Very interesting. A guy from the East named Kinney is the one who built it all and I tried to find out if he was a member of the Kinney Shoe family but I struck out.

Of course, that’s detracting from where we started - sorry!
