Its a true talent to unite a team within the lines of a football field, but its something else altogether to bring a group of young men together outside the game.
Thats what Alabama head coach Nick Saban helped do on Monday when his players organized a march to protest racial injustice within the country. Although Saban was at the front of the line and the first to speak outside Foster Auditorium at the conclusion of the march, he wanted to ensure the people that the reason this was happening is from listening to his athletes.
This is what helped me grow in my role as a leader, to listen to the players, to learn from the players and give them opportunities to do things that could impact social change today, said Saban. Today Im like a proud parent. Im proud of our messengers over here and Im very proud of the message.
Im very proud of the All lives cant matter until Black Lives Matter video that we did early on that I think had a very positive impact. That was something we did together as a team. This is something that the team decided to do together as a team, so Im very proud and supportive of what they are trying to say, and in a peaceful and intelligent way. Im very pleased to be here.
Senior running back Najee Harris was one of the players right up in front with Saban and one of the big orchestrators in putting the march together and also one of the biggest advocates of Saban as a players coach.
Back in August Harris raved about Sabans willingness to listen to the team when it comes to issues of race...

Saban supports commies? Who knew? We NOW DO!
Nick Sebum for his greasy ass hair.

In other collegiate football news, Iowa State will allow up to 25,000 fans into Jack Trice Stadium for its games.
Another sign ISU makes the playoffs this year!!!
Kinda like the walruses in Alice in Wonderland?
Follow the money. Saban is highly paid based on his success, which involves recruiting the best athletes in the country, many of them black. Roll Tide.
I knew he is good buds from way back with Manchin from WV, so I wasn’t surprised that he is a dem. Figured he was smarter than to step into anything political since he had steered clear till now. I won’t be watching Bama football this season. I’ll find other things to do.
Saban is laughing all the way to the bank. One of the highest paid football coaches in the country.
70% of Black pregnancies end in abortion.
What did he do for white players who are now second class citizens?
I suppose I can use my TV to watch old movies and Hickok45 videos.
He’s well paid and good at coaching his players. On the other hand, he is an amoral creep, willing to slander our country and its people with the lies of BLM.
Nice summary. This is way above the heads of the morons.
This is how you turn leadership over to the troops. This destroys respect for the coach. They have him now and they can work him like a sock puppet from now on. I want this. I want that...on and on and on.
No. He just didnt want to lose his pipeline of the top black recruits.
Hopefully backlash from this will benefit an old Alabama foe, Coach Tuberville.
Nick Saban proves he is a fool.
Money grubbing punk.
Repairing the damage will take generations—if it can ever be fixed.
Never thought Nick Saban would get suckered.
What a weakling.
Didn’t know that. Wow.
