President Trump delivered one of the best speeches of his political career Thursday night as he accepted the Republican National Conventions nomination for a second term, boosting his chances for reelection.
The presidents 70-minute speech was highly effective in the sense that he drew clear and arguably persuasive contrasts between himself and former Vice President Joe Biden in many areas, including their broad-based visions for America, the economy, and law enforcement.
In a way that was reminiscent of Trumps positioning during the 2016 campaign, the president made it clear that he is running as an outsider and a non-politician against Democratic presidential nominee Biden, who Trump characterized as embodying the political class and the establishment.

Please explain the significance of this. I don’t understand.
Thank you for pointing the connection out. I always liked that movie.
They’re worried about Virginia?
Wow. Their polling must be cratering.
Oh, how we miss Pat Caddell. I would have loved to see his reaction to this race.
The only “cohesive message” from the death2America convention was “orange man bad.”
Which will garner zero net new votes.
Last time they tried anything here in North Texas 300 armed patriots sent them packing.
Trump is not in his element when he's reading from a teleprompter. He always comes off sounding wooden and unemotional. It's when he's speaking extemporaneously that the real Trump comes out.
I think Wallace and Hume missed the point. Trump was not talking to people like us on FR but instead was focusing on suburban women and the minorities last night. This meant not fighting with the media or calling people a bunch of unprofessional names. It also meant not going off script. Instead, he was low key and laid out his differences in an outstanding way.
That really was a baller Convention - even with the covid crap.
Kudos to the producers.
He has, they are running rampant in Richmond almost nightly and they’ve done mischief in quite a few other cities too.
Notably, in Manassas, they tried to assassinate the police chief. Virginia Beach has also seen quite a bit of chaos.
Yes like his tongue in cheek remark about Joe Biden kissing people. The expression on his face was priceless after delivering the line. The audience laughed pretty loud as if on cue.
It’s incorrect information. Soros rent-a-mobs did a major number on Richmond and continue to do so with the tacit consent and approval of the mayor, legislature, governor and AG.
Doug Schoen is an honest man. He was a solid Clinton supporter for years.
Trump: our best is yet to come.
Interesting. I doubt that Trump is that much of a film buff, but Mnuchin might be.
According to Chris Wallace, it was flat and lacking.

On a side-note, she went out and got 4 Trump 2020 signs two weeks ago and put them in her yard. Her neighbor saw them and asked where she got them. The next day he had two Trump 2020 signs in his yard and a Trump 2020 flag right under the starts and stripes on his flagpole.
Is Richmond cursed with liberals?
Haven’t been there in forever since I was a kid on my way further south.
Last time I was that deep into VA it was Roanoke to rescue a dog.
“.. wallace, brazille, juan, britt, dana bushie & doug..”
Rat, Rat(Previous head of the DNC), Rat, Moderate, RINO, Moderate.
That’s what Fox News calls Fair and Balanced.
My rich Trump-despising, unarmed sister lives in Manassas, schmoozing it up with all her muzzie gal pals.
Wonder how she feels about this.
[yes we had the same parents. no idea how she happened]
:D
“Doug is one of the few Democrats I can bare to watch.”
There have been times when Doug has been on Fox — with Dobbs, I think — and been asked when he was going to change parties. He’s been more than disenchanted with the RATs for a long time.
