I was only a lurker in 2012, but I was struck at how fervently most Freepers supported and defended Romney against Obama. They defended Romney against every attack, including the fact his Bain Capital destroyed companies and sent jobs to China. “That’s how capitalism works!” his defenders said.

I didn’t vote for Romney-Ryan and I cheered when their defeat was announced. If Romney-Ryan had won, Ryan would be the GOP presidential candidate this year. Imagine that

It is much more than just cheap labor. When I owned a business, I was contacted repeatedly to join. I have been a fairly high up officer in a major engineering society and been sent back to WA DC to do lobbying on behalf of my profession and the public’s interests.

There were many positions by the US Chamber I didn't like and didn't feel either helped small business, engineering firms, or the public. I never joined them because of that.

Freepers were outraged that Harry Reid said Romney didn’t pay taxes. But how would Freepers know that Harry Reid was wrong? They had no way of knowing. They were just automatically defending Romney. As if he would ever have their back in the same way. They acted like a bunch of sheeple for Romney

PS, we still don’t know that Harry Reid was wrong. For all I know, Romney May have paid no taxes in the years Reid was referring to. What reason has Romney given me to believe him on faith? I am not a sheeple for whoever the GOP runs for office

I agree that President Trump has interrupted a lot but I think the marchers have made another serious mistake. They have insinuated themselves into the education establishment to foment revolution but I think they have misjudged how spoiled and impatient the students are. No more long march for them. They want it right away so they are protesting, rioting, threatening right before a major election and they are further damaging the cause by purging the older generation of marchers through the cancel culture. They want it right now and they want the oldsters out and so they are waking up lots of people to the threat before it is fully ripe.

John Stossel did a great show on, Corporatism, and how big business with their buddies in the Chamber of Commerce can destroy the little guy and eliminate any and all competition.

IMHO, as far as our economy goes, that Corporatism has done more to harm the US economy, small business owner and entrepreneur than anything else.

The chamber of commerce in not by any means a right leaning organization. They spend lots of money lobbying for gun control. They lobby for more immigration. They’re about as right leaning as Booker’s imaginary friend T-bone

You are correct. The plan was 8 yeaars of Obama and 8 years of Hillary—and they were that close. Trump is fighting back on all fronts: academia, press, judiciary, House, bureaucracies, state and local government, media, entertainment, corporations, military and intelligence agencies. But it will take years to set it right—well beyond Trump’s second term. This is a fight for our nation.
