THE NY TIMES HITS THE PANIC BUTTON

I'm guessing the Democrats’ internal polling on the current rioting and protesting is looking really bad, because the New York Times this morning declares a five-alarm fire with this new story (I’ve bolded some revealing bits of the reportage):

How Chaos in Kenosha Is Already Swaying Some Voters in Wisconsin

Don Biehn, 62, owner of a flooring company, was standing in line at a gun store on Tuesday afternoon. He said that he had never bought a pistol before, but that he had a business to protect. A former county board supervisor, Mr. Biehn said he had been calling county and state officials for days, trying to explain how grave the situation was. . .

He added: “It’s chaos — everybody is afraid.” Mr. Trump, he said, “was not my man,” but now he is grateful he is president. He said he seemed to understand in a way that other politicians did not. “There’s nobody fighting back,” he said. “Nobody is paying attention to what’s going on.” . . .

Priscella Gazda, a waitress at a pizza restaurant in Kenosha, . . . said she had voted only once in her life — for Mr. Obama in 2008.

“I’m not the one who would ever vote,” she said. But after the chaos in her town, this year is different. “I am going to vote for Trump,” she said. “He seems to be more about the American people and what we need.”

I’m guessing this story has ruined a lot of breakfasts today for Times readers, and will cause a lot of canceled subscriptions. The Times isn’t supposed to bring its readers unpleasant news like this.

I hope they are unable to turn around their disastrous response to their beloved punk thugs.

Toyota makes many of their cars and trucks here, as do other marques. Again, why should I buy a poorly made GM product (which these days may have more Chinese or other foreign content) to support the union idiots in Kenosha or elsewhere in the Democrat Empire, when I can buy a Toyota that’s better in most every objective metric, that’s made in the USA and often has a higher USA made parts content?

The most made in USA pickup truck right now? It’s a Honda Ridgeline. The most made in USA SUV is the Honda Ridgeline.

Think about that.

Er, sorry, the most made in USA SUV is the Honda Passport. The most made in USA car (as in sedan or coupe) is the Acura ILX.

I don’t have problem as long as the VIN starts with a “1” then I am good. A “2” is so so, means Canada.

A VIN starting with a 1, 4, or 5 means United States. Not just a ‘1’.

“This can happen to you and the Communist Democrats are willing to do it. “

Not in my CA town.

It would last mere minutes.

Yet you immediately went off on me, assuming I was supporting China. And you defended the substandard crap coming out of the Rust Belt.

You have but to look at the British motor industry to see what happens when people kept blindly buying garbage in the name of supporting their country. Buying crap cars got them more crap cars and worse crap cars until one day they were so bad the car makers lost their export markets because their products weren’t competitive. Then not long after they lost their domestic market because even the most blindly loyal patriots had to admit that the domestic product wasn’t competitive and was really a waste of money. Supporting a domestic industry churning out substandard product doesn’t save your industry in the long term - it only destroys it.

And I say that as someone who has an old Jaguar sedan sitting in a garage waiting for better days.

Gazda is a Polish name that has been in Wisconsin for generations.

Whatever. I did research and Kenosha has a sizable Hispanic population.

a longarm to go with it that’s not a Fudd gun

My choice was a Mossberg 930 SPX.

Fully loaded with Federal LE #1 buckshot.

“They must pay attention to who/what they vote for on their ENTIRE ballot.”

Yep! No point if all Trump is going to do for the next for years is to veto bad legislation.

It works well in the light. For when it's too dark, I put a very bright LED light / green laser up front.

Also a side saddle with 3 more rounds of #1 buck, and 3 rounds of Federal LE Truball slugs, just in case of a hard target, or a longer range becomes needed.

Not a bad choice, but I dislike the slow reload and still relatively low ammo capacity. I went with a Saiga 12 instead.

5 to 30 round detachable box and drum magazines, no waiting. Absolutely not a Fudd gun.

I just cracked a celebratory guinness stout which any Irishman knows is part of the breakfast of champions.

Can’t drink all day without an early start!
