Hurricane Laura emerged from the Caribbean Sea, leaving behind flooding and fatalities in Hispaniola and Cuba. Former Hurricane Marco dissipated Tuesday morning, a few hours before Laura strengthened to a hurricane.

Yes, it has been a mild summer.
Recon showing a stronger system with the pressure in the low to mid 980’s
All I can think of when I see the current track that takes what’s left of this storm over KY (wtaf?) is think maybe it can wash away these idiot protesters that nearby Louisville has been dealing with for the last 80+ days. Is that bad of me? Anyways, thank you for your hard work on these threads, it’s very much appreciated. I hope everyone makes it through this one ok.

Gotta watch that menat, not good for you.
Shes trying to get her act together, but still not terribly well defined.
Best case is, she rushes on in at Tx-La border. Quicker the better. Not TOO much there to really damage.
Im getting a little worried that the northern turn is going to be delayed a bit more than theyre saying. A more westward track would give more time to develop and put Houston more at risk. If this girl wraps up, she could get strong in a hurry.

Maybe a good soaking rain will give a few protesters a much needed bath. I have a suspicion many of them don’t have enough sense to come inside during a storm. Also suspect their parents aren’t thrilled at the thought of their wasted offspring coming back to the homestead for a visit.
OOZ model suite has ticked back east near the NHC track
pressure continues to drop but so far surface winds have leveled off
still slightly not stacked and perhaps a couple of small whirls still within the larger center
I suspect no change to the NHC update here shortly but perhaps a slight decrease in pressure from 3 hours ago
I live in Jasper, TX...right in the path. Thankfully I’m not home. We have a mandatory evacuation. I didn’t need to be told to leave! Just hoping it doesn’t do the damage Rita did.
