In response to a weekend of power outages caused by a heat wave of triple-digit temperatures, and ahead of anticipated blackouts through Wednesday, Gov. Gavin Newsom issued a stark statement during a Monday press conference in response to the crisis: this cant happen again.
Newsom said as governor, he was ultimately accountable for the energy failure that left some households without power on Friday and Saturday amid temperatures cruising past 100, and that hed now take responsibility to immediately address this issue and move forward to simply make sure this never happens again in the state of California.
But he said he wasnt alerted until Friday that California was at risk of rolling blackouts.
Let me make this crystal clear, Newsom said. We failed to predict and plan these shortages, and thats simply unacceptable.
Californians up and down the state faced scorching heat this past weekend.

Wow. He's a statesman, I tell ya. A statesman!
They started to shut down at 88% capacity, and shut down at 94%. They’re not supposed to start until 92%, and they’re not supposed to shut down until 97%.
Newsom is not the only guy to smell a rat.
He could also order (and advertise) nominal increases in utility bills to encourage even the residential customers to crank up the thermostat.
There gonna be a run on portable generations like crazy, lol, its power outage season! Better get yours now, crank em up!
* * *
And powered by? You guessed it, the evil fossil fuel that’s gonna burn out the planet it 10 years.
Can’t have that... Bwahaha!
The problem is simply that the power companies didn’t know Governor Newsom considered the blackouts “simply unacceptable. Now that they know, I’m sure there will be no further problems.
Just tell all the electric car drivers to not charge for a week.
Gavin(under the truth serum): This is simply acceptable
“Even as they are slated to happen again repeatedly, today, this week and well into the future.”
If only someone had warned him years ago.
I think someone (us) should pay for Greta's plane trip to CA. Make up leaked stories "Newsom insiders admit he won't allow Greta to speak."
Then pay for placard wielding demonstrators with bullhorns shouting "Let Greta Speak" outside his mansion all night. "Build More Solar Farms".
Wonder what Greta would say to the hostile masses huddled in the dark in the sweltering heat?
It gets better: the turbines break down and they are made of NON-recyclable material. They bury the blades.
With the gyms closed, zero power generation from those fitness-crazed Californians on stationary bikes.
They’re all insane. And it’s more catchy than covid
Well, Gavin, it IS now happening again.
What do you think about that?
PG&E just left me a text, saying we may have more power outages between now and this Thursday.
There was no mention of having discussed this with the Governor first. You gonna let them get away with that?
California needs to build Power Points.
There gonna be a run on portable generations like crazy, lol, its power outage season! Better get yours now, crank em up!
And small private generators are INCREDIBLY inefificient and expensive to own and operate, especially gasoline powered generators.
You BEAST!!! What about the CHILLLLDREN???? Don't you even CARE about THEM????????
He strikes me more as a weenie waver...
Heck, the demonicRats wouldn't know what to do with it, if they
did have one.
They'd tax it out of existence.
... move forward to simply make sure this never happens again in the state of California....
Supply and Demand. California is becoming a failed State. No new in-state energy production ... exploding legal and illegal immigration over the last 30 years. This aint complicated.
Known
I signed recall petition yesterday
Be hilarious if you are recalled, which would end your 2024 aspirations
