A family is grieving for a five-year-old boy who was shot to death in North Carolina.
Police say Cannon Hinnant didn't die from a stray bullet or a neglected firearm -- they say a neighbor walked up to the child while he was playing outside with his siblings and shot him point-blank in the head.
Cannon’s mother Bonny Waddell is speaking out about his death.
“My baby didn’t deserve this,” Waddell said. “We lost a big piece of our family.”
Waddell said she wants to see the death penalty given to the man accused of killing Cannon, 25-year-old Darius Sessoms.
Austin Hinnant, Cannon’s father, said he also agrees with seeking the death penalty.
Sessoms was a neighbor of Austin Hinnant for eight years. The two men even had dinner and drinks together the night before Cannon's murder.
"There wasn't anything between me and him, any bad blood whatsoever, for him to have a reason to do this," Hinnant said.
Police have not released information on a motive.

the left-liberal mainstream church in my street has all sorts of BLM slogans scrawled on a sheet they hung outside for all to see. Perhaps they could add a line at least about this innocent child of God but I would imagine he’s not part of their thoughts.

I’m not sure this case is death penalty eligible.
The death penalty should be carried out first, then have the trial.
I agree with the parents but they should understand that they will be babysitting their grandchildren before this miscreant is executed.

The loss of a child doesn’t get any worse than this. The perp must die— he’s a distraction for their mourning and memories.
There is no such this as a motive to execute a five year old child. NONE, but there is a CAUSE and that is the non-stop drumbeat of hatred from media, BLM and the Democrats towards white people. It’s only been a matter of time when some violent thug committed a devastating crime like this because of the daily lies being spewed. so they need to stop pretending there is some mysterious motive and prosecute him for a hate crime which is what they would do if a white guy murdered a black child.

It should be did the perp know it was a loaded gun and he was aiming it and firing at an innocent little boy on a bike? If yes. That’s “sane.” Lawyers have been allowed too much leeway about that matter.
Like the terrorist murder defendant Muslims from an Arab country, trained last spring with a terrorist group in Syria, with anti-American slogans on their Facebook and the authorities and news media say “Searching for a motive for second week.”
