Our journalists are at the park. The gates are closed and law enforcement officers from the Georgia National Guard, Georgia State Patrol and city of Stone Mountain are gathered at the town entrance to the park. A few protesters hoping to challenge any of the armed militias are also gathering downtown.

These days “protesters” is news speak for militia. So, first thing I ask is which militia?
When my wife and I first moved to Georgia 35 years ago. We would occasionally have KKK fliers left on our windshield to join their rallies....
Stone Mountain was one of their favorite gathering spots...
Haven’t seen anything like it in over 30 years....
Usually, when you watched the news their gatherings were only 10-20 people.... hundreds would show up to counter protest and the cops had a small nightmare on their hands...
Heavily armed militia members from the Georgia Security Force III%, led by Chris Hill, have gathered in Stone Mountain, about a block from a group of counter-protesters. Some counter-protesters are also carrying assault-style weapons.
From his position behind the barricade, Hill began recording video.
“They will try their best to characterize us as white supremacists,” he said. Hill said his group was there to defend the Constitution from radical leftists. He also railed against red flag laws and repeated the president’s concerns over mail-in ballots.

I was just at Stone Mountain last week and heard that they were expecting a gathering of Southern heritage groups today. I assume some of them may be militia groups, although it is basically a gathering in support of preservation of the monument.
They were also expecting BLM protesters and whatever that armed black group was that appeared a few weeks ago.
None of the employees were looking forward to it...
The cops probably didnt want to get shot by one of those idiots.
Plus their black, so they get a free ride, again.

Time is getting short, so in my view Civilian Militias should be forming in every State, and their battle strategies should be worked out in a big hurry!
Chris Hill’s militia group, Georgia Security Force III%, has retreated to the Stone Mountain Library after being outnumbered and surrounded by jeering counterprotesters.
Police presence at Stone Mountain park has been heavy, but few law enforcement officers were visible in the city of Stone Mountain where militia and counterprotesters confronted one another in tense exchanges.
Gerald Griggs, first vice president of the Atlanta NAACP, said he hoped the rally would remain peaceful and was happy that the crowd was so lopsided in favor of the counter demonstrators.”There are a lot more individuals representing the true American nature here,” he said.
At the Stone Mountain Welcome Center, apart from the clashing protesters, 200 people gathered to listen to Richard Rose of the Atlanta NAACP.

Georgia has an unorganized militia as do most states. It’s open to any resident over 18. It’s not racist or KKK and totally legal. A constitutional militia. They operate quietly and legally.
They keep a close eye on the two Muslim training camps up in N GA and when the US Army decided to leave their own base and roam around up in the N GA mountains pushing people off the mountain trails and trying to close roads in the forest and throw their weight around they were surprised to look up on a ridge and spot a figure in full battle rattle quietly watching. This happened daily til they got the picture. Last we heard they went on back to base where they are supposed to train.
If “that” was a “right-wing counter-protest” then it was a very SAD example. A bunch of older white guys dressed up in camo carrying AR15s ... and when the teenager in a T-shirt moved toward him he moved back. They all retreated until they were left standing on the side of the street watching the BLM protesters stream past them. Either you are serious or you are not ... these people were not serious and were made to look like old fools.
Are you aware that the area around Stone Mountain is heavily black?

Mayor Fisher said nothing in reply when the head of NFAC threatened to burn Louisville to the ground if they did not get their way.
