De Blasio made a stop this week in New York City's Chinatown, where a grocer approached him to discuss the economic hardships brought on by the coronavirus pandemic and the related lockdowns. The shop owner also asked what city officials plan to do to help struggling businesses.
Amazingly, as the grocer was still talking, the mayor quite literally turned his back on him and walked away, muttering on his way out, "Thats very unfortunate."
Hows that for leadership?
We've been taking a hit since January, said the man, identified as Patrick Mock of 46 Mott St. We lost our Chinese New Year, our busiest day of the year of our community. The most festive holiday that we have. Then COVID happened. Now, we are all hurting so bad. What we need is people's confidence."
It was at this point that the mayor started to make his getaway, telling Mock offhandedly, "It's just a difference of opinion, that's the bottom line."
"We need help, we need more confidence," the grocer continued.
The mayor turned his back, saying, "That's very unfortunate."
Mock, who made headlines earlier this year for his efforts to feed the homeless and elderly amid the deadly pandemic, said later that de Blasio brushed me off." He told the New York Posts Elizabeth Meryl Rosner that the mayor "was only in Chinatown today for a 'photo-op mission.

Agree.....stupid voters mixed with voter fraud.
He has totally destroyed this once fun and, not too long ago, relatively safe city.
We last visited, last year. We would go often and felt perfectly fine walking about the city...day or night.
From Flatiron up to Central Park....no worries/problems, at all. We love the Revolution era history of the city, especially in the Financial District.
NYC residents are fleeing by the hundreds, daily.
So sad to see what this Communist has turned the city in to :-(
A magnificent city stripped of its grandeur by the greedy DeBlobbio odd couple.
I used to tell Miss Marmelstein that I’d like to visit NYC for perhaps a few days, someday - mainly to see the museums, the Public Library, and experience a little of the hustle-bustle. (I may have liked it a lot in the first half-decade of the last century; but generally, I’m not a fan of beehive metropolises like that.)
However, it is arguably the most important major city in the US, and what leftist policies have not only allowed - but ENCOURAGED - to happen to it, is a tragedy.
Many of those New Yorkers are moving down to Florida.
It is a private club for psychopaths.
#DemocratsDontCare
They want control and power and wealth. That's is all they care about with the exception of bring down America as it was founded.
They are totalitarian bastards and dictators at heart.
I blame no one but the ignorant people of New York City for electing this self-avowed communist. What did they expect the outcome to be?
That is Democrat "compassion."
Kaiser Wilhelm de Blasio won his first term in an election with a 26 percent voter turnout and second term in an election with a 23.9 voter percent turnout, both in the lowest turnouts in New York city mayoral history.
Those who voted for him for his re-election were 8.5 percent of the population.

Hopefully wold be nice, but sadly, it was serious.
And I completely understand about the lack of inflection in the printed word.
I’ve had the same thing happen to me.
Yes, I read that and I also copied and pasted the same thing in my reply but my question was - what was the hit they took in January? Before Covid? Chinese New Years? WHY? What was happening BEFORE COVID?
