Our founders warned us of the dangers of standing armies.
Weapons bans are an attempt to disarm/hobble the Militia, which hasn’t been well-regulated (properly trained) in my lifetime. No doubt there are well trained private teams, but their allowable arms have been limited by law for many decades.

There is nothing magic about being a retired military officer. Not all of them won the CMH. While the vast majority are likely conservative patriots, I am sure there are thousands of them who are liberal pukes. Lt Col Vindman is Exhibit A for the latter.

A Trump resistive effort is in effect a counter Coup

Trump signed an Executive Order giving him the power to recall any officer back to active duty.
All he has to do is recall the 200+ generals and admirals that Obama terminated and reorganize the entire flag staff (just under 1000 people).
He can then, as CIC, order the arrest any military personal planning or participating in a mutiny and send them to a military prison or an intelligence community prison ship until the situation is resolved.
I would bet that true O-10 patriots, such as Gen. Jack Keane, have a list of fellow flag officers who should be recalled from retirement to active duty.
And, these people know which Patriot Non-Commissioned Officers should be recalled to enforce the action.
