What the heck is going on with those retired military officers?
American Thinker ^ | Andrea Widburg

If you’re like me, you keep seeing headlines popping up about this or that retired military officer lambasting Trump as a dictator and, in some cases, offering wargame scenarios about how to evict Trump from the White House. These officers believe that Trump will lose the election and then, instead of leaving the White House, he will engineer a coup attempt with help from the DHS and those of his many supporters who own guns. (Never mind that it was Obama who already conducted a coup attempt.) Kurt Schlichter, who knows the military, thinks that if things go sidewise in January, many generals would join with the Democrats.

To understand what’s happening, you should start with Byron York’s excellent rundown of the fantasies that high-level retired officers are putting forward. In their fantasies, Trump, who has consistently abided by the law and with judicial decrees, will suddenly go rogue and, having lost the election, will then refuse to leave the White House:

A number of President Trump’s most implacable critics are fantasizing about deploying the U.S. military to remove him from the White House on Jan. 20, 2021, based on their assumption that a.) he will lose the election, and b.) he will refuse to leave office on his own.

Recently, two retired Army officers speculated about deploying a brigade from the 82nd Airborne Division to overpower Trump’s “private army” that they believe the defeated president will use to try to cling to office. Another retired officer, a former chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell, imagined the military in battle with armed Trump supporters, the result being that “all bets are off as to how much blood might flow.”

They are the staff pukes who rose to the top by licking leftist politicians’ boots.

“What the heck is going on with those retired military officers?”

That is the fruit of 8 years of Obama.

A felony would end their retirement. Glad hear they’re earmarking their whereabouts

If he loses because of fraud and collusion, he better decline to step down.

I’d like to hear from some retired upper enlisted like myself. I believe these officers are full of crap!

I started liking Al Stewart when he came out with “Modern Times” back in the early spring of ‘75. IIRC, it was the title track that I heard on the FM station that first attracted my attention. Was even more pleased when I found a song dedicated to Vonnegut’s writings on the album.

Name names and investigate their party affiliation.

Confront the named asking them, “What if Trump wins?”

You will have your answer by how they answer

these seeds were planted back in the 90s by tools like Wes Clark. They spread their roots during Obamas administration and now we see what they were hoping for.

I am more obsessed with his music than you could imagine, though I came late to the party in 1995 after his Between the Wars was released.

With no role to play in this new dynamic administration, these men are sinking into the paranoid delusions of the the antiTrump uniparty.
I read about a certain former Agency head who was holding meetings with former colleagues over weekend coffee at a restaurant near the place where he used to be somebody.

That is the fruit of 8 years of Obama.

The US military was much too PC for me in the early 1980s, after 4 years of Carter.

I do not believe that the majority of the US military officer corps above the rank of O5 is any more conservative than Fauci.

1995? - Newbie :)

Great lyrical depth, great musicianship, great emotional breadth.

They don’t write ‘em like that anymore.

The soft coup is getting ready to try to go hard .

They need to get rid of President Trump at any cost.

The Left took over under Obama and eight years of corruption and deconstruction of the United States followed . Plus a massive offshoring to China as the elites put their bets on China and shorted the US economy.

These people will not go quietly into the night and they are invested, both literally and figuratively, in the “managed decline” of the US - economically, politically and socially.

This is one reason why it is so critical for Barr and Durham to expose Obama era corruption

Our founders warned us of the dangers of standing armies.

Weapons bans are an attempt to disarm/hobble the Militia, which hasn’t been well-regulated (properly trained) in my lifetime. No doubt there are well trained private teams, but their allowable arms have been limited by law for many decades.

I think Bracken is right. We are heading to an ugly sniper war like that in the balkans, where the factions will be identified by obvious racial and socio-political differences.
