Just woke up to an earthquake in Raleigh, NC. My Earthquake3D app says it was a 5.1 magnitude near Sparta. Friends on Facebook reporting it from mountains to sea.
No news on it yet... so here you go!
I felt it in central NC.
Didn’t feel a thing in Blacksburg Va but I never do. Cats were pretty anxious
Apparently, according to neighbors, quite evident here in Chapel Hill. I was out for a bike ride and didn’t feel anything
...Felt it in NE GA
I need to check on my sister in Hiawassee
Rolesville, NC here. Did not notice it.
Good grab :)
Thats a really cool graphic. Thanks! Ive clicked on the link and watched for a few minutes, but what is the time frame for all the data points, do you know? (Im not savvy enough to figure it out!)
Over 38K have reported feeling on USGS site so, clearly, it was felt ;)
The dutchsinse Earthquake 3D shows last 24 hours. As shown in graphic above, the width of the band shows magnitude and how high off the map reflects depth. In recent days there were a LOT of DEEP earthquakes indicating that more shallower earthquakes were likely pending.
Earthquakes in diverse places ... ;)
thank you, Steve!
Aint nobody ready for Yellowstone...
Is that from the series?
Earthquakes do occur in that part of the country. A big one destroyed Charleston, SC in 1886.
Unexploded munitions from Fort Sumter?
Wow, thanks for posting the screenshot & link to the awesome 3D realtime global quake map. VERY cool!
Stay safe FReepers!
...Is that from the series?

Felt it in Charlotte...heard a slight creak in the house framing
