Lets start by saying some of the polls dont have a great track record as a predictor of who would become President of the United States in 2016. One of the biggest problems was how information from polls was sometimes cherrypicked and reported on the news. Weve generally learned a lesson: Consume polls with a grain of salt.
That includes the information in this post.
With that in mind, its still interesting to look at some figures tracked by RealClearPolitics.
President Trump appears to lag in most every category and battleground state. But theres a recent shift in trending. Joe Biden is now behind where Hillary Clinton scored on two key measures and Clinton, as we know, lost.
First: The national polling average.
Biden is up 6.4 points over Trump in the national polling average on August 8 a healthy lead.
But Clinton was besting Trump by a bigger margin, 7.4 points, on August 8, 2016.
That puts Trump ahead of his place in 2016 by one percentage point, and on the positive side of his 2016 comparison for the first time since May 17.
President Hillary believed the polls.
Polls are for morons.
there are a lot of non-poll related things happening which I think aren’t even recorded by pollsters. There are now 5 MILLION First Time gun owners over the last 3 months. City after city has been the scene of destructive riots. Dozens of monuments have been destroyed of defaced. The virus hysteria is getting very old. Blue state governors and mayors have made a conscious decision to destroy the economies of their states mostly out of their desire to defeat Trump. Most people blame China for the virus. The dems have been actively supporting rioters, looters, vandals, and arsonists. When asked, most people side with Trump on a host of issues, and the majority say he is better prepared to get the economy going again.
All these have an impact that is likely being filtered out by the pollsters in order to get the results they themselves want.
People believe polls whose results they like, and dismiss any whose results they don’t like.
I was called by a pollster Friday evening. They asked if I was going to the poll to vote or use the mail. I told them that if all of my limbs were broken I would still crawl through broken glass to vote for Trump. Probably not what they wanted to hear.
The polls are a cover story for the cheating so that a Biden win would seem plausible.
Polling on something that is not going to happen is futility!
Polls are propaganda for morons.
I’ll walk through Hell in gasoline underwear to vote for Trump...twice!
At one of my stops today I spoke to a man wearing a Trump hat, and Trump face mask. He told me he’d been a lifelong democrat. He was voting for Trump because he said the democrats want to turn the U.S. into a Communist country.
“Polls are for morons.”
Damn right. In 1980, the media told us Reagan and Carter was “too close to call” on election day. The Gipper won by ten. So the media said everything must have changed during the final weekend. Four years later, they said Reagan would lose to Mondale or Gary Hart. Then they said Dukakis was 25 ahead of Bush.
When they finally got one right in 1992, the bastards still purposely overestimated Democrat strength. I’m amazed at how conservative media wants us to buy into them.

It’s not Labor Day yet. Once that weekend is complete the election season begins
Fun part is how Trump boxed the Libtards into a deal for Corona.
States can 25% of the $400 for their citizens and if they want to increase those benefits to Oh, I don’t know, ($600) then the Feds will cover 75% of that.
They can’t say no to $400 and maybe not $600 and litigating the whole thing is a No Va
So, they lost again and Team Trump gets to crow about it til Nov 3 and again in January when he extends it further....
A few have made the astute observation that college pukes “learning” virtually this fall (and there will be a lot of them) cuts down on their organizational ability to vote in large numbers for their usual leftist idiot (and demented) candidates.
Everything you said is right on the money. The Democrats have also been defending China against charges (which we know are true) that they were responsible for the deliberate spread of the coronavirus.

I got polled last night. I immediately realized I would never tell a stranger how Ill vote
that’s true-people cherry pick polls but they are not meaningless. The Realclearpolitics average of polls for 2016 was fairly accurate on the national vote-giving Clinton a slight lead, its the trend that may mater more-the good news is we closed down somewhat over the last two weeks- good news.
and in that vein here’s something interesting from the Fischer Investment Newsletter-unless the Democrat candidate is already president then they haven’t won once with the candidate expected from 4 years ago-has to be fresh face-they explain it better:
“An amazing trivia secret: Democrats havent won the presidency once since the Civil War with any candidate thought likely to be the next nominee four years earlier, unless already the President somehow. Never, ever! Biden is archetypal of what they always lost withan old warhorse. Theyve won with previously unexpected names: Grover Cleveland, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, JFK, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and....Barack Obamaunexpected relative blank-slate personas to generate enthusiasm and turnout among youthful voters.
“” I would never tell a stranger how Ill vote”””
You got that right. I’ll tel them I am voting for Pat Paulsen.
I know about 7 or 8 pretty diehard democrats from Philly and California who are flipping for Trump.
