NEW YORK (AP) A new book by former President George W. Bush will highlight an issue which now sets him apart from many of his fellow Republicans immigration.
Crown announced Thursday that Bushs Out Of Many, One: Portraits of Americas Immigrants will be published March 2. The book includes 43 portraits by the 43rd president, four-color paintings of immigrants he has come to know over the years, along with biographical essays he wrote about each of them.
Bush, who served as president from 2001-2009, has often praised the contributions of immigrants, a notable contrast to President Donald Trumps rhetoric and policies. As president, Bush supported a bipartisan immigration reform bill that narrowly failed to pass in 2007, with opposition coming from both liberals and conservatives.

It is even worse than that. The so called “LEGAL” immigrants are mostly relatives of other immigrants who sponsored them. There is ZERO requirement for skill, or wealth for the immigrant and the sponsoring immigrant is not even required to support the immigrant.
My sister sponsored our mother at age 70. Our mother was too old to work and had no money. Mother collected supplemental social security checks for decades until she passed away. Note that she never worked in US and therefore contributed no FICA tax or any other tax.
There are 15 million such senior immigrants in the country. No wonder social security is going broke.
How many were illegal and/or slaves?
To much LEGAL immigration at this point. Stop ALL immigration for 40 years.
The ONLY purpose of LEGAL immigration is to increase the labor supply and reduce wages of Americans. The only purpose.
Funny, -15 years and you’d be banned for just suggesting that. I wasn’t a huge fan of W, but he was insanely better than gore or kerry.
Please clap.
Like my brother says, before Trump the last Republican President we had left office in 1989.
That begs the question as to whom you did support.
I wish that I'd never heard the name Bush!
I recall two SEALS who received CMH’s for rescuing downed pilots in North Vietnam. Thornton and Norris, and: both were in 1972. Were you in country then or earlier?
Shrub! Speaks. Who cares.
LOL! I was out by ‘70. Not in country. I “fought” the red menace on the other side of the world. :-)
U served. U did not know if you’d be KIA or WIA.
Your brother is correcto-mundo.
Both Bush’s were not up to the job.
“Elites” love CHEAP LABOR’...
They want the American working man forced to compete with a person working under the table for two bucks an hour.
Of course they don’t SAY that - they gussie it up with noble words... but in the end it boils down to CHEAP LABOR THAT LOOKS UP TO - AND GENUFLECTS BEFORE ‘ELITES’.
Screw Bush...
I wasnt a huge fan of W, but he was insanely better than gore or kerry.
How so? Other than Alito I can’t think of a single redeming quality of the Bush’s 8 years.
History will mark the Bush years as one of the most significant in American history. He could have attempted to roll back the Progressivism of Clinton years and reoriented America on Constitutional path that honors our 200 years of American Heritage. Instead, he colluded with Democrats to forever change this country. THAT is what Bush will be remembered for. I hope he lives to see his home state of Texas dominated by progressive Democrats the way California is now. That’s his baby and he owns it all.
Then there are the wetbacks...the parasites...the immigrants who want to transform this country into Nigeria,or Brazil,or China.
C’mon, man! (channeling Joe Biden) The Bush family needs the cheap labor to mow the yards of their expensive homes.
