Several people were arrested on Sunday night after police and protesters clashed in Cottonwood Heights.

A large police presence was at the rally, and both officers and protesters were injured. Cottonwood Heights police say the arrests happened after demonstrators did not comply with their requests to clear the street and the protest turned violent. Local leaders expressed their concern about the police response on social media.

This could have all been avoided if George Floyd had the simple ability to follow the law.

From looking at their photographs, I suspect they are all doctoral students at a university...They look so sophisticated and educated...My guess is the illiterate police force was jealous of them and used their brute force to overwhelm the polite and peaceful protesters......

Would it really be a waste of time to have added the very long word “Utah” at the end of the lead in sentence? Sarc/

“Local leaders” is a blanket term for state legislators. In this case... “The legislators include: Sens. Luz Escamilla and Jani Iwamoto and Reps. Angela Romero, Karen Kwan, Mark Wheatley, and Sandra Hollins”. In other words, the Democrats.

““Local leaders” is a blanket term for state legislators.”

Our wonderful media used to refer to tony yapias as a “Community Leader”. After facing rape charges they downgraded him to a “Community Activist”. Lucky for him he was pals with AG sim gill and got off on reduced charges.

>>The intent of the response of police to thuggish disruptions of it is to restore order and keep the freedom of right-of-way secure.<<

I assume you meant “purpose.” Of course the intent is to let the thugs have their way out of fear of being sued, prosecuted or just lynched (and yes, I use that word on purpose).

From the article:
“Ren Alex Knab, 21, was arrested for assaulting a police officer, a misdemeanor, rioting, a third-degree felony, rioting and refusing to comply with a lawful order and obstruction of justice, a third-degree felony.”

From Wiki:
“The Ren & Stimpy Show is an American animated television series ... The series follows the adventures of title characters Ren, an emotionally unstable Chihuahua,...”

I am sorry to disagree with you, but the intent is the attitude within which an act is undertaken. The resulting outcome is another matter altogether. Any judge will want to review the intent, the mindset, when evaluating the morality of the outcome.

Referring to the matter of appointing Justices at the highest level, my interest in how they will conduct their work is whether they will abide by the original intent of the Constitution's Founders. That is apart from the purpose for which the Constitution was written. For a singular intebt, any suitable purpose will do.
