Per Jared Weiss of The Athletic, Barnaky stood with his hand over his heart and eyes closed.
Barnaky has worked as an NBA referee since the 2009-10 season, per Basketball-Reference. The 45-year-old worked as a college ref for a decade prior to the jump to the pros.
Per the National Basketball Referees Association, Barnaky worked as a civil trial lawyer prior to becoming an NBA official. The NBRA noted that he still works pro bono for "public-at-large clients in need of legal services."

Having to explain why you stand for ourflag and National Anthem?
Amazing!
My thoughts exactly!
Exactly.
Leftist Bizarro world where you have to explain honoring flag and country.
Have to believe the real ‘foreign interference’ is supporting BLM and other anti-American forces within our own country to weaken us as a nation. Rather than a war, just conquer us with our own divisions and stupidity.
Others who stood for the anthem during the restart include San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich,
Surprisingly.
Exactly. Normalcy now requires explanation.
Clown World.
He might not be able to get back up without help. He’s very far left.

Even if someone is found guilty of a heinous crime we'll take care of that.

Also,I tuned in to an NHL game on TV last night.I quickly saw a BLM banner and within milliseconds of spotting it I tuned out.
Three seconds of my life wasted.
Nice, good for him.
I never would have imagined the day when you have to explain why you’re standing for the national anthem.
It would show some courage and possibly draw some media attention if a player wore a shirt that says “Black lives don’t matter more than anyone else’s.”
It would be funny to thus bait the media and see how many would show cameras on only the first four words. Possibly another Nick Sandman moment.
