A New York man was arrested twice for smearing paint across the Black Lives Matter mural that sits in front of Trump Tower.
Mark-David Hutt, of Rochester, was arrested by the New York Police Department on July 25 and 26, becoming one of at least eight people to be detained for vandalizing the mural.
Footage of Sunday's vandalism was captured by a witness and begins with the 31-year-old crawling on his knees while using his bare hands to smudge the paint.

How do you “vandalize” graffiti?
The real vandal is the one the people of New York City, in their infinite wisdom, elected mayor. All my siblings live in NYC. One is conservative Christian, one a rabid Democrat, and one an indifferent working stiff. I am so damn glad every day that I got out.

Not sure I’m getting the problem with this guy’s actions . . . . just a week ago, it was okay to vandalize and to destroy art in parks and in front of buildings. How is this any different?
Personally, I have become largely hardened to things occurring in New York that otherwise I would have found abhorrent, but the city paying city police to guard this DESECRATION of an object PAID for by taxpayers, and MAINTAINED by taxpayers still makes my blood pressure spike.
Even worse, is detailing the police, requiring police to have to guard this intellectual abortion in paint on the road. If I were a policeman forced to do that, I would be hopping mad.
Especially since as a cop, I am likely to think the mayor is a filthy scumbag, and the organization Black Lives Matter in their view wants me dead at best (”Pigs in a blanket, fry em like bacon” and “What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want them? Now!”) and put out of a job at least.
The Mayor scumbag should be removed on those grounds alone.
Residents in the Trump Tower, in units facing the street, should be given balloons filled with paint. Open a window, launch said projectile...Bob’s your uncle.
Last time I checked this was NOT a mural...definition says artwork painted or permanently attached to a WALL or CEILING ...

Recently spoke to an upper middle class woman who was all atwitter about the BLM and Antifa and she supported it.
Discussed with her whether she actually thought she would be able to keep her two houses and cars etc after they came into power.
She said of course, but she did not realize that Stalin and Mao history divested people of their possessions and often killed them.
Wealth and poorly educated
Ack! No...I apologize...I am not a cop! That was imprecise writing on my part-I was speaking in the third person saying “Especially since as a cop”...
I went through a phase in my life (as I think many young people do) where I had a distrust and dislike of police...I think I felt they were out to get me personally.
Which is a typically immature way to view that kind of thing. And I grew out of it.
I have grown over time to appreciate the difficulty of that job. You have to see the worst side of human nature on a constant basis in everything from reprimanding a jaywalker to being the first one at a homicide scene.
That has to eat at you in a fundamental way. Never mind the stress of being called to a domestic disturbance where you might get killed or injured or be a world wide front page story.
I respect the police even when I run into an occasional one who is a jerk. I run into occasional grocery store baggers and physicians who are jerks too. I view them now as people trying to do their jobs to the best of their ability and get home to their life after work.
This branding of them as institutionally racist just burns me up.
