Orange Man Bad? Democrats Worse (Is there anything Trump could do to lose your support?)
American Thinker ^ | August 1, 2020 | Jonathon Moseley

Posted on 08/01/2020 6:40:37 AM PDT by Moseley

For years, #NeverTrump activists were pushing the challenge to Trump supporters on social media: “Is there anything that Trump could do that would cause you to stop supporting him?” It was one of the primary “Orange Man Bad” themes.

The morality test is that Trump supporters are abandoning all principle by worshipping Donald Trump as our Messiah and engaging in a cult. Leftists in both parties have lied about Donald Trump, hurling smears and invective, accusinng Trump of saying things that Trump never said and doing things Trump never did. And yet it just isn’t working.

Why don’t any of their attacks on Trump succeed? It cannot be because the #NeverTrump arguments are dishonest, unfounded, and unpersuasive. It has to be because Trump supporters are mesmerized. Trump has fooled us all into thinking he is wonderful.

Never will #NeverTrumpers reexamine their arguments.

The correct answer is obviously: “No, there is nothing that Donald Trump can do to lose my support, because I am not judging the 2016 or 2020 elections based on Trump’s supposed perfection.” Because any intelligent person’s necessary support Donald Trump has nothing to do with whether Trump is flawless or not, Leftists are wasting their time. Donald Trump being without faults never played any role in our decision.

In 2012, the Republican Party made a fatal mistake. (Well, many, actually.) The main message of the Republican presidential campaign from those trying to drag Mitt Romney across the finish line was “Obama bad.” Not “Mitt Romney better.”

But voters don’t vote that way. The voters, I believe, were ready to concede that in many ways: “Obama bad.” But… were the voters convinced “Mitt Romney was better?” No.

The NeverTrumpers cannot understand the answers until they understand the questions. What is the color of the sky in their world, where 'moral purity' comes at the expense of the country? Are they ignorant or uncaring about the presumptive RAT president, a radical VP to be named later?

Or is it about being able to market their product to whatever niche of 'conservatism' survives the mob takeover?

The Trump cruise ship has sailed, and they are not on board. They propose to sink the ship rather than let it proceed. They cannot comprehend that the cruise ship will never again sail for them. At best, they can go along for the ride as a guest of PT, or command their own piece of wreckage. I will not return to the way things were. Maybe I'm like the farm boy who, once he saw Paris, couldn't go back to the farm. PT has disproven the lie that we had no choice but to settle.

I can remember when they ran their Bushes and Doles and McCains and Romneys...we were told we had to support the candidate. If the same doesn't apply to them, they can KMA.

They seem to seek philosopher kings, I want a manager. I don't need some elite deciding what's best for me, I know what's best for me. I voted for PT because I believed he would do it. His performance hasn't been perfect, because nothing is. But it's been much more than I dreamed possible.

You and I are equally Pollyanna. I totally agree with you...lots of Dem-leaders are normal people who aren’t woke über liberals.

(Is there anything Trump could do to lose your support?)

I would vote for Donald Trump even should his body be laying in State beneath the Rotunda. (However incorrectly I may have phrased this, I imagine you can get my drift.)

Yes, I might question my support of Trump if he
arrested and hanged Nanzi and Chuck from lamp posts
in D.C. I would charge him with leaving trash in
the streets and admonish him not to do it again.

Of course there are. He could advocate the government’s confiscation of privately owned firearms, the government subsidizing of the abortion industry, the defunding of all police agencies, the destruction of the wall on our southern border, the doubling of all federal taxes, statehood for D.C. and Puerto Rico, etc., etc. In other words, he could embrace as his own the entire Democrat platform for the coming election!

Since the democrats are and have been the party of slavery I suggest that they be labeled as such. Their history has to be headlined everywhere. This labeling of everyone else a racist needs to be combated vigorously and often.

I’m convinced that Romney took a dive in 2012.
......................................
Mittens slithered out of the same cesspool from whence came McCain and the remaining RINOs in Congress, all of whom are controlled by the anti-American mob known as Democrats.

In 2016 the plan was for Jeb Bush to lose to Hillary Clinton. Thank God for Trump’s timing.

>>I voted for Trump in 2016 because he was more Conservative than Hillary Clinton.<<

Our conscience forbids us to vote for a baby butcher.

Christian leaders should make this clear from the pulpit.

if Leo Terrell can turn around and vote for Trump.. and he is... anyone can.
...............................................
If only that were true. Unfortunately there are millions of voters who cannot be flipped because they are indoctrinated American haters or certifiably ignorant. Leo, on the other hand, has demonstrated not only his intelligence but also his courage and his humility, and in doing so he is now a roll model for countless others who admire his grit.

The Democrats are Bolsheviks. Worse, they are Nihilists in the mode of Bukanin. Those at the top feel they can control their Jacobins while they use them to cement the “woke” vote. It won’t turn out well. The radicals will eventually turn on them as they destroy everything that is not to the left of Vladimir Lenin.
..............................................
Well and truly said, and every word of it!

When it comes to supporting Trump, "The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend."

I want to see drifts of Democrat bodies. Rivers clogged with their remains. Since that doesn't seem to be possible, hordes of crazies, writhing in the street because he follows the Constitution seems to be an acceptable substitute.

“Is there anything that Trump could do that would cause you to stop supporting him?”

Yes. He could stop being pro life. He could stop putting American interests first. He could stop fighting the fake news. He could sell out to China. He could stop getting rid of job killing regulations. He could stop telling the truth. He could stop having a backbone. He could stop keeping his campaign promises. He could stop being Trump.

I’d stop supporting him in a heartbeat.

Trump is on par with Reagan - a different style, but equal in greatness.

Both are head and shoulders above Lincoln in greatness. Lincoln gave some stirring addresses, but his supposed greatness is loaded with mythology and symbolism.

I know it is heresy to say so, but I doubt history would have given either Lincoln or Kennedy even a small fraction of the attention they have received, had they not been tragically martyred.

Trump came to God during Graham’s 98 th birthday, at his celebration, surrounded himself ( biblically)with Christian advisors, and 1400 plus pastors across America....I will never desert Trump and his Christian Team, ever....the alternative is the Godless left.
