Orange Man Bad? Democrats Worse (Is there anything Trump could do to lose your support?)
American Thinker ^ | August 1, 2020 | Jonathon Moseley

Posted on 08/01/2020 6:40:37 AM PDT by Moseley

For years, #NeverTrump activists were pushing the challenge to Trump supporters on social media: “Is there anything that Trump could do that would cause you to stop supporting him?” It was one of the primary “Orange Man Bad” themes.

The morality test is that Trump supporters are abandoning all principle by worshipping Donald Trump as our Messiah and engaging in a cult. Leftists in both parties have lied about Donald Trump, hurling smears and invective, accusinng Trump of saying things that Trump never said and doing things Trump never did. And yet it just isn’t working.

Why don’t any of their attacks on Trump succeed? It cannot be because the #NeverTrump arguments are dishonest, unfounded, and unpersuasive. It has to be because Trump supporters are mesmerized. Trump has fooled us all into thinking he is wonderful.

Never will #NeverTrumpers reexamine their arguments.

The correct answer is obviously: “No, there is nothing that Donald Trump can do to lose my support, because I am not judging the 2016 or 2020 elections based on Trump’s supposed perfection.” Because any intelligent person’s necessary support Donald Trump has nothing to do with whether Trump is flawless or not, Leftists are wasting their time. Donald Trump being without faults never played any role in our decision.

In 2012, the Republican Party made a fatal mistake. (Well, many, actually.) The main message of the Republican presidential campaign from those trying to drag Mitt Romney across the finish line was “Obama bad.” Not “Mitt Romney better.”

But voters don’t vote that way. The voters, I believe, were ready to concede that in many ways: “Obama bad.” But… were the voters convinced “Mitt Romney was better?” No.

I voted for Trump in 2016 because he was more Conservative than Hillary Clinton.

As long as Trump is more Conservative than Joe Biden, I will vote to reelect Trump in 2020.

Not that my vote matters in Washington state.

Or, even in my Congressional District.

In 2018, my incumbent Democrat Congressman got 70%. His opponent - from the Socialist Party - got 30%.

Trump is not a democrat

But he's not really a Republican, either, and he missed the chance in 2017 to renounce the GOP, which is now going to cost both him and us big time.

I believe the GOP is the most hated political organization in this country. The Trump election gave them a golden opportunity to change the disastrous course they were on, and they declined the gambit.

Now, they are headed for a bloodbath, which they richly deserve - the problem is, we don't deserve to perish along with them.

Exactly right. I like Trump very much. But the key thing is to stop the Democrats. At this point, I do not care what Trump says or does. I’m voting for him. Will crawl over broken glass. This is the election where it really counts.

I’m convinced that Romney took a dive in 2012. After creaming Obama in the first debate, Romney proceeded to lose the subsequent debates with his poor performance. He didn’t even bring up Benghazi—his ace in the hole—at the debate on foreign policy.

I am the same. Trump is the first GOP candidate for president I actually voted for instead of the GOP guy against the democrat.

I would crawl from a hospital bed to vote for Trump this election. The country depends on him winning.

Sure Trump could do something to lose my support, but that’s unlikely.

The larger question is: Can Democrats do anything that would gain my support?

Not without fundamentally changing all their policies and becoming an American party again.

The author seems to think these NeverTrumpers have any shred of credibility when it comes to their political agenda, and that they truly believe what they say about Trump.

Nothing can be further from the truth. The real story here is that these @ssholes are pathologically resentful of the fact that Trump disrupted their long-running con game in 2016 — not when he was elected President, but when he secured the Republican nomination in the first place. Up until that point they were getting rich through their strategy of putting an endless parade of globalist losers up as the GOP nominee, then making tons of money serving as “consultants” to political campaigns they knew damn well weren’t going anywhere.

By the way ... is it just me, or has John Kasich gone completely silent since the announcement last week that two prominent GOP jerks in Ohio we’re indicted for corruption by the U.S. Justice Dept.?

“Let me put it this way: I am voting against Biden and all other Democrats.”

For me it’ a twofer. I’m also voting FOR My President Donald John Trump, our greatest President since Ronald Regan.

If Trump did what you’re suggesting in 2017, he would have been impeached and removed from office before Thanksgiving.

You can’t possibly believe what you just posted there, dude. LOL.

There are at least 2 Republican parties (nationally) and arguably 5.

Since before 1964, there has been an evil, corrupt, dishonest, Republican party made up of crony capitalists who just rip off the country and fleece the Republican voters.

This should not be a surprise to anyone.

So when we talk about “the Republican Party” nobody by now should be confused that there is a “good” (or at least better) Republican Party and a “bad” Republican Party which is not much better than the Democrats

***For all his quirks, he is the best thing for this country.***

For the people who twang on quirks, they are empty .. they let someone else tell them what to think.. what to accept and what to reject. They’ve been told to let quirks keep them from seeing the accomplishments of a great President.

Where would we be if Trump had not come aboard ... he takes no salary... he has to be weary but never shows it.. he takes it and goes on the next day.. who else....
He has a lot of common sense...without it ya can’t tell right from wrong... or how to do what all he does.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

In my view, President Trump is greater, by far, than Reagan and possibly also Lincoln.

The Democrats are Bolsheviks. Worse, they are Nihilists in the mode of Bukanin. Those at the top feel they can control their Jacobins while they use them to cement the “woke” vote. It won’t turn out well. The radicals will eventually turn on them as they destroy everything that is not to the left of Vladimir Lenin.

George Washington was spot on. He foresaw the foibles of having political parties. Look how many of those feckless pols vote to tote the party line.
Better if all pols were Independents instead of playing for a team. Too bad because it would help root out some career scums in DC.
